Alessandra's POV

When I woke up, I was in a place I didn't understand. A place I had never seen before. Bright. Cold. Scared.

"Don't play with your IV." I looked over to my right to see Domenico sitting in a chair next to my bed. He looked like he hadn't slept in days. He looked up at me with sad looking eyes. "You scared me." I felt like someone had just kicked me in the stomach after I saw him with that much sadness.

"What happened?" I asked. He took a deep breath in.

"I'm assuming it had something to do with a man named Adam." I froze and my eyes got wide. How did he know? "Ryan told me about the story a little while ago." I nodded my head. "You had a panic attack from memories, which made you pass out from hyperventilating. You have a mild concussion. They're keeping you here over night just to be safe. We can take you home in the morning." I nodded my head. I looked down and noticed his hands. They were bruised and slightly bloody.

"What happened to your hands?" I asked, partially already knowing what probably happened.

"There was a small fight."

"Small?" I replied, not believing it.

"He needed to be taught a lesson."

"Dude, really?"

"What?" He genuinely sounded confused. "I didn't kill him."

"Oh well someone call up my kindergarten teacher so I can borrow a gold star for you."

"He hurt you."

"But still, why did you do it."

"Because damn it."

"Because why?" I was starting to raise my voice.

"Because I love you!" He yelled. He got up and left, leaving me there to take in what he just said to me. But I didn't get to tell him that I feel the same way.
