"Why didn't you guys tell us?"

The looks, Reius gave us was one of disappointment, maybe but truly it was broken.

Lowering my head, I tried to apologise, "Sorr-"

"Don't you dare say sorry."

I caught my breath, looking at Reius, he seriously looked torn up. When he had found us, we quickly moved to an empty room.

Shaking his head, " Why...why just..." It was too much as Reius pinched the bridge of his nose.

He really changed huh.

"If you're wondering why, maybe it's because we didn't want to involve you." said Alex

"Alex!"

It was already too late, Alex moved out of the way, walking towards the door. However just before he stormed out, he muttered the words, " Don't you  dare cry. If you handle the death of your mother, you can handle this."

That did it.

With just those words, Reius finally broke. Getting down to his knees, tears sprung from his eyes as they rolled down his cheeks. The whole atmosphere dropped by 110%. Which is really bad.

Warily, I draped an arm over his shoulder. Pulling him into a small hug. Patting his back gently as my shoulder slowly became soaked in his tears.

"There there..."

(Timeskip: 3rd POV)

"What the heck you think's wrong with Reius"  asked Ross as he sat by the window ledge, a pencil perched on the bridge of his nose, trying to balance it.

Theo rolled his eyes, it was so obvious something happened last night to the two royals and Jeremy. With Reius's swollen red eyes, Jeremy's tired eyebags and Alexander's avoidance of the latter.

Grunting, Theo sat his textbook down and walked to the depressed duo. Ross following right behind, a small mark across his cheek from accidentally hitting himself in the face with said pencil.

"So what's the deal?" asked Theo as he fanned a book across the dazed faces. Shaking the two out of their daydreams.

Shaking his head, Lukas gave them a small apology before asked to repeat the question again.

'They look like they've both lost their souls.'

"Theo was asking, what the hell happened to the both of you." Turning to look at Reius, " Especially you! What in the holy name of the church happened to your eyes?!"

Ross was swiftly smacked in the head with a scroll.

Reius only continued to look glum but refused to say a word.

As Theo and Ross interrogated Reius, Lukas quickly escaped. Something only caught on by Theo.

Walking away from the dorm building and into a meadow near the forest, Lukas found Alexander behind a tall oak tree. A book over his face as he lay against the tree trunk, fast asleep..

Anger filled Lukas. Grabbing a book from a pile nearby, he threw it at the Arborean. Hitting him right in the face, waking him up.

"OW!" Rubbing his face, Alexander couldn't help but send Lukas a stink eye.

"Don't you dare give me that look." warned Lukas as he glared at Alexander. " Tell me, why did you say those words to Reius and.....also why didn't you inform me?"

'His saying a lot of 'whys' huh..' though Alexander.

Sighing, Alexander played around with the bell that was attached to his hair tie, explaining, " Reius's mother died. I heard that she committed suicide because she couldn't stand the idea that her beloved husband would commit such a crime as Treason..."

'That's....sad..'   Thought Lukas before asking for his other question.

"It was the only way to break it to him. Couldn't you tell. His living in denial! Anymore, and I'm sure he'll break."

The way Alexander said it, nearly made Lukas want to wring his neck. Holding it all in, Lukas gave him one last glare before leaving.

The only sign of him ever being there was the book that lay haphazardly on the ground.

Alexander simply watched him leave, his hand gripping onto his chest as he could only wonder why did his heart ached so badly.
