"As your Alpha, it is my extreme honor to official present you to My Mate, your Pack Luna Cassandra Jones...Soon to be Cassandra Giles."

The pack cheered and Dean had to calm them down once again so he could continue. "As well as our pack Beta Jaxon Hemlock."

Once more the pack cheered and this time Dean just let them go crazy as the music also started up and everyone knew the party portion of the presenting had officially started.

I smiled with relief as Dean took my hand. "You look happy."

"I am happy." I commented, "I'm always happy with you...but in all honesty...I'm just glad this is FINALLY over."

Dean kissed me but we were pulled apart when Steph cleared her throat.

"Uh, Carter says there's been some noise down in the southern sector of the pack."

Dean nodded and Jaxon came over after he noticed the three of us talking.

"Everything good?" He asked before Dean filled him in, his face was concerned. "You think it's a distraction?"

Dean nodded.

The thought never even crossed my mind.

"Alert the guard and tell them to keep an eye open around here...everyone's here so if they're gonna attack it's gonna be right here not on the outer banks." Dean said under his breath so only we'd hear him.

"I'll tell Carter." Steph said.

I was worried as I looked around and saw all the little kids.

And Dean being my ever present mate picked up on it instantly.

He offered me a soft smile, "why don't you take the little ones in for a story time and snacks love."

As much as I wanted to be with him in case something did happen I knew I would be better off in the house. No doubt Dean would get hurt trying to look out for me if anything did actually happen.

I nodded and called forward everyone's attention, thankfully we had all the sweets inside so they wouldn't get too ruined in the heat of the day.

"I wonder if some of my younger friends would like to join me into the pack house for a storytime?" I sounded with a smile now. "And maybe even have a little treat to go along with it?"

I love children, and as I watched all of their faces light up in delight I couldn't help but genuinely smile now.

I kiss dean once again before I made my way inside and knew that whatever happened Dean would take care of it.

"Everything alright?" My mother asked worriedly as she helped me look for a good book to read to the kids.

I grabbed whatever and moved to the window to take a peek at my mate. I watched as he carefully removed his sling, he was prepping for a fight, injured or not I knew it would t stop him.

'He better not shift'

"...Cassandra?"

"There's some noise from the south side but Dean and Jaxon think it's a distraction since everyone's here for the presenting...brought all those vulnerable inside."

"Cassandra sweetheart." She sighed, "I've been meaning to talk to you."

I stopped looking at Dean and gave her my full attention.

"Baby girl...I don't think you're pregnant."

"Mom." I sighed.

"Hear me out...I'm a nurse sweetheart, I see this all the time...false positives."

"Mom, I'm tired, and nauseous, and...I haven't had a period since I can't even remember when."

She only nodded, "And it's no wonder...you are under a lot of stress, you're tired because your brain won't shut off and you've always been an overthinker when situations get tough...you're sick with worry over your mate and the pack that's why you're nauseous...and stress and fatigue can keep your monthly away."

I only looked at her, Dean had seen the pregnancy tests, I'd seen the pregnancy test.

"I know you want to be happy, and give your mate a baby and have your own family...but please just sit with the doctor first and confirm everything...if you're pregnant your father and I will only continue to love you as much as we already do, and I'm sure you'll make for an amazing mother...but if you are not...sweetheart you are still so young, and I just want you to enjoy this time as a teenager, and a newly mated she-wolf, and grow in your role as Luna."

I heard her and simply nodded, I knew I was going to get checked with the doctor and Dean and I do have an appointment set up...but seeing the pregnancy test sort of made everything real.

More so...it brought up feelings of having a baby. Originally Dean and I had talked about waiting to start a family...but here and now...I couldn't help but feel like I really do want to have a baby.

As I walked out with the book in hand everyone turned to the back of the house as sounds of commotion hit our ears.

"Everyone stay inside." I said quickly.

They all looked at me now as I had just given them their first order...and the order felt heavy so I amended it.

"Everyone stay in the pack house until we know everything is okay."

All of the adults in the pack house nodded and did their best to either look out the windows to see what was happening or trying to calm or distract the children.

As I took a nervous seat on the sofa I thought about how I had just given my first order as Luna of this pack.

'Not first order.'

I furrowed my brow...Of course it was.

Then my wolf projected an image of Jace into my mind.

How could I forget?

When Dean was injured, I was so scared and furious that he'd been hurt by Jace's weird vendetta against him that I had ordered the pack guard to kill him. And as I hadn't exactly lifted that order it still stood.

I had also ordered the entire pack to travel in groups until these rogues were taken care of.

Now I sat there with worry.

Would a guy be killed because of something I'd ordered in a time of anger?

I finally understand the full extent of my role and the power that comes with it and it was genuinely scary. Goddess if I lose my temper and take it out on an innocent person...there'd be nothing anyone other than Dean or the council could do.

I shook my head.

I didn't want Jace to die.

Yes he needs to be dealt with, and yes there's something going on with him...but I didn't want to see him killed.

"It looks like everything's done." Someone sounded.

I got up just as the back doors opened and Dean walked in. "Everything's fine...you're all safe to go on home now."

He walked over to my side and smiled down at me as we watched everyone leave. But I noticed his smile was forced.

A little boy ran up top me and asked if he could have another cupcake and I smiled and nodded as I watched him run to the dessert table and help himself to whatever he wanted before he joined his parents outside.

Once alone Dean sighed, "Jace is dead."
