"DEAL, YOU GOT YOURSELF A BET."

Nino couldn't help but smile at his best friend's response. He never doubted that Adrien would have fallen into the trap that quickly. The blonde never gave much thought to the consequences of his actions. Not since the day after that night.

"Okay, this should be easy. I mean, I did generously give you three months to get her to fall in love with you. And know that I don't mean a pitty make-out session. No, I mean genuine love. Just so you don't think I am cheating, Alya will be the judge of that." Adrien gulped. This was trouble. His heart couldn't love anyone. He had made sure of it after it had been ripped to shred the first time. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that maybe he could pull this off. Nino said she had to fall in love, not him, but he couldn't help but feel this was wrong. Not that he hadn't already broken many hearts before, but at least it wasn't intentional. He was always honest with the girls letting them know he was not looking for a relationship.

He never leads any of them on. He would make sure they were warned that he was only looking for fun. He would even let them know he would want anything more than a make-out session. He would not take them on dates, or meet each other's parents and they were lucky if he ever called again. He knew it was harsh, but he found it better than leading to believe he could ever love them.

But then he would have to give up his plan of being Marinette. Could he do that? No, he couldn't.

Even though Adrien tried so hard to deny it, his heart already belonged to someone else. It has since he was 14. He constantly lied to himself, until the point that even he started to believe it wasn't true, but it was. Whether he liked it or not, his heart had an owner, and it would try and call out to her every time she was close.

That was the problem.

"O-okay, who is the girl?" Adrien asked nervously. He was beginning to regret agreeing to the bet without hearing all of it. But, it was too late. He had already stupidly agreed, and he wouldn't lose his Marinette lucky charm, not if he could help it. He just hoped Marinette wouldn't completely hate him for this, or worse than this would drive her into the professor's arms. But he had to do this. Not only was his Marinette Lucky Charm at stake, but he really wanted that one-of-a-kind Jagged Stone merchandise.

"Oh, you will most definitely know soon enough," Nino stated with a creepy evil look and a hint of amusement in his voice. This only made Adrien grow more nervous.

Marinette walked through the hall toward the locker room with a confused look plastered. If you were to ask her what she was feeling this very second, she wouldn't know how to answer. There were so many emotions at once. Confusion and happiness because of the situation with his professor, but what she felt the most was anger! Anger and pain. Anger towards Adrien, and pain for herself.

The truth was, Marinette was happy when she walked out of the class, but as soon as her eyes landed on the blonde she felt anger rise. He looked at the redhead from class with a  look of lust and it killed her.

Many times she hated herself for still hurting, but she did. Her heart ached every time she would see him with someone else. She couldn't explain it. How could it still hurt even after she stopped loving him? Because she was over him, right? She still couldn't believe the way he showed up to class, but why the hell did she care so much? She hated him, right? She truly believes she did. If only she was aware of how big of a lie that was.

At the same time, she had to admit she felt oddly excited. The gorgeous Luka Couffaine, the fashion prodigy of the United States, showed interest in her. This was the first time since high school. There were many times that even when a guy was clearly interested, they wouldn't make a move. In fact, suddenly he would stop talking to her. She never could understand it. She wanted to say yes to Luka, but she felt nervous about the age difference, and unfortunately, she was scared to give someone her heart again.

Marinette walked towards the lockers and rolled her eyes at the sight of Nino and Adrien in deep conversation by Adrien's locker, which to her luck, was only two away from hers. Their eyes locked for a second. Each of them felt the anger come back but stronger. Marinette couldn't believe his actions, while he couldn't believe hers. Each was mad at the other for something that they could have prevented years ago.

Walking towards her, he placed his arm around her shoulders before speaking. "Hey princess, I didn't appreciate that comment in class today but don't worry, I am willing to forgive you, but only if you give your knight a sweet kiss," Adrien flirted.

He knew how much she hated when he flirted with her, and not only did he use it against her, but it gave him a chance to say everything he ever held back, having her think it was a joke. Because the truth is that his words were never a joke. He often found himself dreaming of a life with the bluenette. If only things were different. Wait, what? No, he hated her, he said those things to mess with her. Yeah, that was it.

"Well, good thing I give zero fucks if you forgive me or not. But I'll tell you what, if you can drop dead, and come back as someone new, you know, not a heartless prick like you. Then I will gladly kiss the knight," Marinette spat out, dropping venom in her words. She knew of the harm her words would inflict, but she tried to break him just like he breaks her with his play boyish activities.

Marinette slammed her locker shut, and placing a hand on his face she pushed him away allowing his arm to drop, and walked out of the locker room, trying to get away as soon as possible.

Adrien tightened his jaw and clenched his fists. That girl really knew how to get under his skin. He really wanted to teach her a lesson someday. If only his heart would stop beating at the speed of light when she was close. Damn his stupid heart. His thoughts were interrupted by Nino's happy voice coming from behind him.

"And that right there was your girl
