You see, death doesn't happen to you. It happens to everyone around you, to all the people left standing at your funeral trying to figure out how they're going to lives the rest of their lives now without you in it.

- Stiles Stilinski

No one knows what happens when you die. There are theories all around the world, but there isn't and will never be any proof. No one knows if our souls are still active and sit in the dark, waiting for the world to end. No one knows if we walked up the stairs of heaven, or fallen down into the pits of hell. No one knows if our conscious ghosts look down and watch their living friends and family move on and wait for the next death. No one knows.

But people still die. And it affects everyone.

• The realization that the plot of your life doesn't make sense to you anymore

• How everyone felt when Marley died

Each person was impacted by Marley. Some had a small impact, some larger. Some grew with her, whilst others were barely friends. But in some way, Marley's life had changed a bit of everyone else's. When she died, it was then people realised how important she was to them.

Marley's mother, Donna Dunbar. She was never close to her daughter; she had been divorced, constantly occupied with Liam's behaviour, and the struggle to maintain a healthy relationship with a man. Donna had never been the person to be affectionate with her kids. She provided for them, gave them a house to sleep in, but that was it. Her kids lived on what they were given. To cover up the real reason why Marley died, the Dunbars were told that Marley had been with her friends when a group of people tried to steal their car. In the process, she was stabbed. Donna never cried. She was upset that her daughter had died, but the emotional connection had never been there. It was like she refused to Cry. Months after Marley died, Donna married her boyfriend, Dave. It was her way to cope, along with smoking. No matter how many cigarettes she lit, they would never fill the pain of losing a daughter.

Noah Stilinski, the closest thing Marley had to a father. In the short time he knew Marley, he could tell that her should was pure. The first time they had met was when Marley marched into the Sheriff station and demanded that the police find Isaac with a little more enthusiasm. They had socialised a few times, all to help the supernatural, but one moment stood out. The elevator. When Noah and Marley were in the elevator together, they shared a moment, something that connected them on a small level. Marley was strong and passionate, humorous, which reminded Noah of his late wife. He always thought that she was similar to Claudia, so much so that she could be considered another sibling to Stiles. Marley had had the most father-daughter bond with her friends dad she had ever had with anyone. Noah knew that she was a daughter to him. All of the Beacon Hills kids were like his own, but Marley was special. Noah Stilinski lost a child.

Chris Argent, another protector of Beacon Hills. At first, Marley and Chris could be considered enemies. He hunted Marley's friends, and she worked against him. But when the two sides came together, they worked incredibly well. Marley had never worked well with anyone as much as she did with Chris. The two thought alike and would often add to each other's plans. The reason why Chris allowed Marley to have daggers wasn't because it was an apology, but because he saw himself in her. Much like him, she was passionate for what she thought was right. She approached situations like him, thoughtful but in the moment. Chris could see that Marley had an act for wanting to help people. That's why he trained her. But she was too premature going into battle. It was his job to protect the young, the people that needed protecting. But there was one person that he couldn't save.
