Dabi's POV:

I followed the chicken as fast as I could but he was still too fast for me. This was the moment I was happy that he had two of his feathers following and leading me to his house. However, once I was in front of the house I couldn't help but gasp at the size of it. I knew that pros salary was high but this was something completely else.

It took me quite some time to get back and start moving. The feathers even needed to usher me to get going. Once I started walking I quickly began running and storming into the room Hawks was in.

He was in the pool holding Azrael and I could see the poor angels wings lifelessly floating and helping the green bean stay above water. It was only now that I saw how green his hair was.

Hawks: Ah there you are spicy nugget!

Me: I think you got confused chicken.

Hawks: Ohh like what you see?

Me: I would like it even more if circumstances would be different.

I went over to the pool and sat down close to it watching both of them. If I needed to sacrifice a chicken in order to safe my sworn brother than I would gladly do it. Though I would rather have this chicken's ass and everything in once piece. It was just a waste to burn him down after all.

Hawks: He'll be fine. Don't worry.

Me: He saved me twice now. I owe him more than I can repay.

Hawks: He saved you...

Me: Yes...

Hawks: What happened?

Me: Oh, someone is too curious for his own good. Why were you at the alley?

Hawks: I don't know. Maybe because I was chased there!

Me: Chased?

Hawks: Yes, these freaking people just attacked me!

Me: Well your hot ass does have a high price attached on it.

Hawks: *Sigh* I don't even know these guys!

Me: You don't know them?

Hawks: NO!

Me: ...

Azrael...

Don't tell me they were after you little phoenix!

Are they the ones you were hiding from?

What did you go through?

What is your past?

Hawks: They were after him, weren't they?

Me: Probably.

Hawks: Do you know why he is a vigilante?

Me: No.

Hawks: Is he hiding from something?

Me: Why are you so interested in him?

Hawks: Just curious.

Me: Curiosity can be dangerous and you know that.

Hawks: Maybe but why now come in here and show me how dangerous it really can be?

Me: OH you wish I would!

Hawks: Maybe!

Me: Welp to bad I don't want to get wet today!

Hawks: Awww!

Me: Now spill what you know about Azrael.

Hawks: He is a well know vigilante that no one ever saw personally besides a couple of people.

Me: I know that.

I was hoping that he would tell me more about him. Something I didn't know. However, in the end he insisted that he didn't knew anything which I was sure was such a lie!

We had Azrael 2 hours inside the pool until Hawks said that he didn't felt cold again. After that we took him to the guestroom where me and Hawks both began cleaning his wings. It surprised me to see Hawks being so careful with the feathers. I already knew that his feathers were soft and that he was very sensitive to them.

Seeing that Hawks was carefully touching them made me think that his wings were very sensitive too and this was something I sure wanted to test out later even more. For now, my focus was on the small boy that was sleeping in peace.

Hawks: Did this happen once or is this his first time?

Me: NO and from what I could tell it wasn't even the first time when we met.

Hawks: Hmmm.... I see.

Me: Let's leave him for now.

Hawks: Yeah, he needs rest. You two can stay here as long as you want. This house is big enough and I don't have anything against company.

Me: Thanks chicken.

Hawks: No problem nugget.

Before we went out of the room I looked at his wings once more time. It was my fault that his wings caught fire and that a couple of his feathers got burned. I could only hope that they would grew back and that he wouldn't lose them forever. His wings were really beautiful and I was sure I couldn't live with the guilt knowing that I made this beautiful phoenix flightless.

Hawks: He's lucky that the coal didn't hurt the base of his wings only the feathers. So, don't worry they will grow back.

Me: How do you know?

Hawks: My feathers grow back and if his quirk is similar to mine than his feathers will grow back too.

Me: Your feathers are sharp his are soft.

Hawks: And I am a Hawks and he a Falcon.

Me: Similar huh... Only because you are both carnivores don't mean that his wings will recovers.

Hawks: Trust me they will.

After that me and Hawks spend some time together talking about our past or tried too since no one of us really wanted to share anything besides some funny moments. It turned out that we both were similar in a way.

I was born as a hero's son and trained to be All Might's replacement and yet was cast away after my brother was born. I couldn't take it and ran away. I let my little defenseless brother all alone.

Hawks was also trained to be All Might's replacement. He never was cast away but he was trained to a breaking point and he managed to overcome it. However, while we were talking I couldn't help but notices the way he spoke about himself. It was as if he was saying that he was a weapon and a hero and not a person.

For now, I let the topic be. I couldn't risk angering him or making him reconsider letting us stay with him. Azrael needed help, his help. I wasn't able to give him the help he needed at all. Without Hawks I wouldn't know what to do with the half-burned feathers. It was the chicken who told me to carefully pluck them so that new ones can grow. He also was the one telling me tips and tricks on how to help Azrael's wings recover.

At the end I knew he was only telling me these facts because he wanted me to feel a lot better and cheer up which he succeeded.
