Charlotte's POV

Nathan groaned, grimacing, and rubbed his temple without opening his eyes.

"Hangover?" I giggled, leaning on my elbow, and caressed his chest.

He instantly opened his eyes and mumbled huskily. "Lottie?"

I raised my eyebrow and said warily. "Don't tell me you don't remember what happened last night."

"Slightly." He confessed sheepishly and rubbed his forehead, grimacing. "Don't worry. I will not tell you it was a mistake or let's forget it." He stated, cupping my cheek, and stroked it tenderly.

"Glad to hear it." I sighed in relief. "You almost gave me a heart attack." I added, rolling my eyes.

He grinned. "Despite the fact I don't remember every detail of last night, I don't regret it." He stated honestly, looking into my eyes while caressing my hair gently.

I smiled happily and placed a soft kiss on his chest. I wrapped my arm around his waist and rested my head on his chest, breathing in his scent.

"But..." He heaved a deep sigh.

I lifted my head and gave him a questioning look, resting my hand on his chest.

He ran his hand through his disheveled hair and leaned against the headboard. "But let's remember it as a beautiful night, nothing more."

"What?!" I exclaimed in shock as I sat up.

Nathan gulped, staring at my breasts as the cover slid down.

"Nathan!" I exclaimed angrily, making him look at my face. If it was the other time, I would be happy because of my effect on him, but now I felt mad.

He cleared his throat, embarrassed and ran his hand through his hair, trying to look at my face.

"Are you kidding me?" I snapped and shook my head, closing my eyes.

He sighed and mumbled, looking me in the eyes. "I don't want to give you false hopes. Right now I don't feel ready for any serious relationship, and I want to focus on my career."

I breathed deeply, trying to calm down, and ruffled my hair.

"Lottie..." He murmured, sitting close to me, and wrapped his arms around me. I hugged him back, burying my head into his neck as tears shimmered in my eyes. "I am sorry. I make you unhappy." He added sadly while caressing my hair. "Despite the fact you are so dear to me."

"If you don't want to make me unhappy, give us a chance." I stated as I pulled back slightly while a drop of tear ran down my cheek.

He smiled gloomily and wiped the drop of tear off my cheek with the back of his hand. Then he pulled me towards him and hugged me tightly, placing a soft kiss on my hair without saying anything.

"Lottie, what are you doing here?" Nathan asked as soon as I walked into his office at the hotel.

I gave him a mischievous smile and closed the door behind me, locking it.

"I came here to show you the attraction between us and convince you to give our relationship a chance." I stated confidently and walked towards him in slow steps.

"Hmm... how?" He raised his eyebrow and gave me an intrigued smirk.

I untied my Trench coat belt and took it off slowly.

Nathan's jaw dropped as he saw me wearing nothing under my Trench coat. He swallowed hard as his gaze darkened.

"Oh..." He mumbled and bit his lower lip without taking his eyes off me, full of desire in his eyes.
