Charlotte's POV

"Thanks." I mumbled shyly, lost in his blue orbs while feeling flattered by his compliment.

"You are welcome, koukla mou." He gave me a mesmerizing smile, still caressing my cheek affectionately. "Umm... if you want, we can stop this game."

"No, I promised to help you. I will keep my promise." I stated, determined. "We are a team. Don't forget it. However, thank you for your suggestion." I gave him a grateful smile. "I have a thoughtful fiancé." I commented and winked at him playfully before resting my head on his shoulder.

He chuckled in amusement and wrapped his arm around my shoulder, pulling me towards him. "Thank you too for helping me." He said warmly and placed a soft kiss on my hair. I wrapped my arms around his waist, leaning my head against his chest and closed my eyes, breathing in his sandalwood scent.

As I finished signing the paperwork, I gave them to my assistant and stood up, grabbing my bag. Alexis and I had a meeting with a French photographer at the restaurant this evening.

When I was about to walk into his office, I saw his door ajar. He was talking on the phone. I gritted my teeth in annoyance as I understood that he was talking to Rebecca. He didn't let me stay alone with Nathan for a second, but he still kept in touch with his mistress. Alex promised me that he wouldn't see her till our argument was valid, but... I clenched my fist and listened to his conversation.

"Yes, Rebecca... I have to hang up. I have a meeting.... Fine... Bye."

I heaved a sigh, shaking my head while boiling with anger.

Brazen liar!

It is my fault to trust him. Don't you know men are untrustworthy, Charlotte? Alex isn't different from other men.

I pursed my lips together, ruffling my hair, and knocked on the door before walking in.

"Are you ready?" I asked dryly.

"Umm... Yes. Let's go." He said, giving me a smile, and grabbed his keys.

I walked out of his office without waiting for him.

As soon as he parked his car in front of the restaurant, I opened the door and got out of the car before he managed to open the door for me. He gave me a puzzled look, but I ignored it and walked towards the entrance.

"Did I do anything wrong?" He asked as he grabbed my wrist, stopping me.

"No." I replied curtly, pulling my arm away angrily.

He raised his eyebrow, looking at me, taken aback. I tossed my hair back and walked towards our table where the photographer was waiting for us. I heard Alexis mumbling something behind me before following me.

After greeting the French photographer, we sat down and ordered our meals. Despite the fact I noticed Alex's gaze on me from time to time, I ignored him and focused my attention on the photographer.

Suddenly, I saw Nathan walking into the restaurant with Victoria. He placed his hand on her back and led her towards the table next to the large window.

I averted my gaze and took a few sips from my wine. When I lifted my head up, I noticed Alex looking at me. From his gaze, I understood he also saw Nathan and Victoria. I averted my gaze and took a piece of my fish.

When I looked at Nathan and Victoria again, she was telling him something while he was staring at her, mesmerized. I pursed my lips together, squeezing the fork tightly, and looked away, gritting my teeth. You had to be a fool not to understand that there was something between them. So Nathan didn't lie when he told me there was someone else in his heart.
