The following days, Torrence stayed with Johnny, skipping training with him as much as he wanted her to, even going to the funeral with him. "Johnny, babe, we've gotta get back to training. People are starting to worry." She says, sitting in his lap on the couch. "I know." He whispers, staring at the tv. She sighs, laying her head on his shoulder and gently kissing his neck. "We'll go back tomorrow." He tells her, wrapping his arms around her waist and holding her to him. She kisses his neck again before she straightens up. "Only if you're ready." She says. He nods, sighing.

The next day, they walk into the dojo, Miguel coming over. "Hey, Sensei, I'm sorry about your loss." Torrence carefully lets go of Johnny's hand. "Thanks." Johnny says. "So, how was the funeral?" "As good as any funeral can be." He answers. "Yeah." "So, how'd it go around here while I was gone?" He asks as Eli starts to walk up to Torrence. She's still got a faint bruise under her eye from his hit. She sighs, looking at him. Johnny watches Eli as he leans against the wall beside Torrence before he walks to his office. "Torrence-" Eli starts when Johnny walks out, scanning them over.

"Everybody, get your gis on. Training starts in five minutes." He says. Everyone whispers, confused, Torrence just stands there. "Yeah, what's wrong?" Johnny asks his students as they all walk up to him and Kreese. "Nothing's wrong. I just thought we were going to the woods for s special training today." Miguel says. Johnny looks at Kreese. "What's happening in the woods?" He asks. "Well, I thought it was a good time to separate the men from the boys." Kreese says. Torrence crosses her arms over her chest, glaring at him. "And the girls, too, I suppose." He states.

"How?" "Coyote Creek." Kreese answers. Johnny sighs. "I'm not sure they're ready for that." He says lowly. "There's only one way to find out." Kreese says. "We're ready, Sensei. We wanna prove ourselves." Eli says confidently. "It's up to Sensei Lawrence. If he says it's okay, then, and only then, is it okay." Kreese tells the students. Johnny glances at Torrence who nods. She heard about Coyote Creek and she wants to prove herself. "All right, what are you waiting for? Let's go." Johnny says. Everyone smiles, nodding. Outside, Torrence climbs into Johnny's car.

She was the only one riding with him. In the car, she stares out the window. "I wanna win this. I didn't win the All Valley and Kreese thinks I'm weak." She says sullenly. "You know you're not weak, why prove yourself to him?" He asks, his thumb running across her thigh softly. "Because I refuse to let that old man see me as weak." She states, finally looking at him. "If you must." He says. She leans across the center console, kissing his cheek. "I'm gonna win this. The only reason I didn't win the All Valley is because I got disqualified." She states. "I know, princess." He squeezes her thigh.

At Coyote Creek, she's placed on the black team, standing across from Eli. "Gentlemen, ladies. Welcome to Coyote Creek. You've been split into two teams. Red... and black. The goal is to capture as many headbands as possible from the other side." Kreese says and Torrence's glare hardens. "Today, the people across from you are not your friends." Aisha playfully glares at Torrence who smirks. "They're not your brothers." Miguel and Eli glare at each other "They are the enemy. Last team standing... wins." Kreese finishes. "How do we get the headbands?" Miguel asks.

"By any means possible. No rules." Kreese answers. "Use your judgment. This is just a training exercise." Johnny butts in, noticing Torrence's hard gaze falling on Eli. She sees a chain around his neck, having never seen it before, it piques her interest. "Correct, but remember, this is your life. You lose it... you die." Kreese says. "Hey, guys! Sorry I'm late." Ray says as he walks up, his beard braided and newer, 'cooler' clothes on his body. "Traffic on the 118 was a real bitch. Put Coyote Creek into the nav, nothing came up." He states. "What have you done to yourself?" Johnny asks.

"Oh, the..." Ray motions to his clothes before taking off his sunglasses. "Yeah, you know what, I just decided to flip the script, Hawk-style. Respect." He says, pointing at Eli who has a disgusted look on his face. Torrence laughs, not bothering to cover it with a cough. Eli glares at her. "Heretofore, you can refer to me... as Stingray." Ray continues. "Yeah, all right, Chubs. He's on your team." Johnny says, looking at Kreese. "Terrific." Kreese says. They tell everyone to go and while everyone is walking off, Torrence sneaks away. No one notices her absence until they go to turn to her.

A boy accidentally crosses her path, sighing and carefully putting up his hands. "Let's get this over with." He says disappointedly. She smirks, jumping and kicking him into the ground before he has a chance to block it. She tears the headband off, smiling at him. "Sorry." She moves on, climbing a tree when she hears someone coming her way. She jumps down, sending a kick to their face. It happens to be Aisha. "Sorry, Robinson." She says taking the headband. "No hard feelings?" She questions. "Oh, hard feelings." Aisha jokes, laughing. Torrence walks on, freezing when she hears Eli.

"That makes five kills. Guess I earned my Medal of Honor." He smirks, jogging off. Torrence silently follows, watching her feet to make sure she doesn't step on anything. She meets up with Miguel, nodding and leaning against the tree beside him. Eli walks up. "Finally, some worthy opponents." He says, noticing the hate in Torrence's eyes. "So, you're the one that trashed Miyagi-Do." Miguel says. "They're the enemy. I had to put them in their place." Eli snarls. "So that means you trash their dojo and steal the Medal of Honor?" Torrence hisses. "What do you care?" Eli snaps.

"Just 'cause you're dating Keene's dad doesn't mean I have to go soft." "I'm not soft. And this isn't about them." She glares at him, fire pooling behind her eyes. "Nah. Sure it isn't." Eli reaches into his shirt, pulling out the medal. "You want the medal so bad? Come and take it." He smirks, tucking it back in his shirt. She waits for him to come to her, blocking each and every one of his hits. She punches him in the face, spinning and kicking his face as well. She pushes him to Miguel who also blocks his hits, trying to kick him but he dodges. Miguel ducks to swipe his feet when Eli grabs his headband.

Miguel growls, shoving Eli toward Torrence who just smirks. He lands a few hits, kicking her into a tree. Everyone hearing the commotion and Miguel telling Johnny he should be ready for her to win, walk to surround the two still fighting. Torrence charges Eli, tackling him to the ground before flipping back and standing. Johnny watches her, her nose bleeding profusely as Eli tries to stand when she kicks him into the ground again. "Is that all you got?" Eli questions angrily, kicking her into a tree again. She rolls out of the way, standing and kicking him.

She sends him to the ground again, snatching his headband before taking the necklace as well, shoving it into her pocket before anyone sees it. "That's all I've got." She spits, glaring down at him. Eli glowers up at her as she starts to walk away. Kreese sees her. "Finish him." She turns, kicking Eli in the face one last time. She holds up the red headband. "Team Black." She smirks at everyone as they cheer. She hears rustling behind her, she turns to see Ray standing. She jumps over his outstretched arms, kicking him in the face, smirking as she takes his headband as well. Kreese nods.

Johnny stares at Torrence as Kreese looks at him. "Looks like that girl of yours is developing a real killer instinct." He says. Torrence walks away from the group, a proud smile on her lips that quickly falls when Johnny shakes his head disapprovingly. "What was that?" He snaps. "That's not how I taught you to fight." He says. "It's what Sensei Kreese is teaching everyone. This isn't a tournament. This is real life." She answers. "That how you wanna live your life?" He asks before walking away. She sighs, knowing he won't leave without her. She pulls Miguel off to the side. "Here. Give this to Sam."

That evening, Torrence lies in her own bed, having not spoken a word to Johnny since Coyote Creek. He wouldn't speak to her in the car. After a little, she grabs her phone and her house keys. "I'll be back later." She tells her mom. "Be careful." Eliza tells her. She walks to Johnny's, knocking on the door. He opens it, brows raising when he sees her. 'I'm sorry' quickly spills out of her mouth. "I shouldn't have listened to what Kreese was trying to teach but I was also trying to show you what he was drilling into everyone's heads. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to-" He cuts her off, kissing her.

"He's gone, princess." He says when he pulls away, thumbs running over the apples of her cheeks. "You got rid of him?" She asks. "I got rid of him. What he made you do today, and what he said about you..." He pauses, shaking his head. "I couldn't let him do that to anyone, especially you. You hurt a friend today." He says. She winces, looking down at her feet. "He trashed Miyagi-Do, Johnny. He stole the Medal of Honor. I couldn't let him get away with that." She answers. He sighs, pulling her inside. "That's a story for another time." He tells her. "Right now, I just wanna hold you."
