Over the next few weeks, I did everything to avoid the family that was moving into the barn not thirty feet away from the house.

Although it didn't take much to avoid them, just included me staying in my room like I did before I even knew of their existence.

The only change was when taking the dogs out rather than going in through the front door, I used the side door on the opposite side of the barn.

Whenever they'd be in the house I'd lock my door, not that I needed to because mama never brought them upstairs but it was an extra precaution I had to take because I don't trust the fact that Toni wouldn't try to see me. don't get me wrong she's nice but I haven't socialised in so long that I'm beginning to think I've forgotten how to do it all together.

Mama sat me down the day I first met them and explained how she knew their mum, Giana, apparently they were roommates at college in Italy before Giana got pregnant and moved to the UK meaning that Adriano and Antonia have lived here their whole lives.

I also discovered they were twins which makes sense since they both seemed to be the same age as me.

Mama explained that their dad died two years ago due to a drunk driver. She seemed to leave details out but I couldn't be too bothered because it was information that wasn't meant for my ears. I did however feel a pang of sympathy for the twins and Giana of course. I mean I understood to some extent, I mean one second your dad was there and the next he was gone, faster than the blink of an eye however my dad was still alive he just left us for something he thought was better.

Stupid Irish Voldemort. After she told me all this I excused myself to my room and haven't left since unless it was to walk the dogs.

Now it was their official move-in date, so vans, upon vans were parked around the back of the barn. The roads have been used more in the past three weeks than it has since we bought the place years ago. It usually just sees my mum in her red Honda, driving to and from work.

Waking up this morning to the sound of more moving vans coming up the road to our land was unsettling, to say the least, but the puppies were whining and needed to be walked despite the anxiety I felt. So that's what I was going to do.

I didn't bother showering before I went out knowing full well if I did, I'd end up showering when I got back too after Beanie and Fedora have splashed me with mud.

I pull on a pair of grey joggers that didn't fit my long legs the best but they were all I had unless I wanted to ruin a good pair of jeans.

Grabbing the red hoodie from my wardrobe, I pulled it over my head causing my hair to spike up like I'm holding a balloon next to it and the strands are eagerly trying to touch it.

I let out a loud sigh and begin to brush it down which just made my hair fluff up making me look like a cocker spaniel.

Sighing again, I grab a scrunchie from my bathroom and tie my hair back in an attempt to hide away the frizz.
