Cecelia May

I finally was done. It was nice, I had done dishes and laundry.

I wasn't sure when he was doing that thing with Maddie.

So I sat on the side of my bed and he immediately woke.

"I'm sorry." I frowned and he sighed when he saw me.

And this time, knowing exactly why merely broke my heart.

He grabbed my hand and held it.

"I didn't mean to wake you, I just wanted to ask when your thing with Maddie was." I said quietly.

"5."

"Well it's 3:45. I didn't know if you needed to shower or anything." I whispered.

"Come w-with me." He said.

I frowned.

"I can't just always be with you."

"Yes y-you can." He said.

I sighed.

He grabbed me, pulling me onto him.

Then he froze.

"Rhodes?" I whispered.

He didn't move a muscle.

"I'll get off, breathe though." I tried lifting myself from him, I sat up, sitting beside him now.

His eyes were clamped shut.

It was probably the weight of me on him while he was in a vulnerable lying position.

I removed myself from him completely.

He covered his face with his hands.

"Breathe, please breathe. I'm sorry." I whispered.

I didn't know what was okay to do while he was like this.

So I just grabbed his wrists softly, trying to pull them from his face.

"At least take a few deep breaths. I'll grab water." I got up, going to my kitchen and grabbing a glass of cold water.

I came back.

He hadn't moved.

"I have water. Please sit up." I pleaded, worried.

These women ruined him. I felt so bad.

"Sit up, please." I asked, tugging gently on his forearm.

He did, but looked away from me when he pulled his hands from his face.

I could see the dampness on them, he was crying.

"Hey, Rhodes, it's okay. It's okay love. You're okay." I rubbed his back.

He wiped his face and shook his head like he was upset with himself.

"Please drink the water." I said.

He faced me, tears running down his face but he was silent, no expression.

Just perfectly rehearsed, silent crying.

I held myself together, being strong for him but this was absolutely terrible.

No one should look like stone when tears were streaming down their face.

And not him.

He grabbed the glass with trembling hands, drinking the water slowly.

"Thank you." I smiled when he finished the entire glass.
