Hazel POV
I got into Aiden's car, expecting him to take me home, but instead, he drove to a restaurant. "Aiden, what are we doing here?" I asked, feeling uneasy.
"We're having dinner together," he replied with a smile.
"I didn't agree to this. Please just take me home," I protested.
"It's just dinner," Aiden reassured me. "Come on, Hazel, let's enjoy a nice meal together."
Reluctantly, I sighed and followed Aiden into the restaurant.
As we entered the restaurant, I felt instantly out of place. Then, as we walked to our table, I couldn't help but notice the way the waitress was flirting with him. It made me feel even more out of place.
To make matters worse, a group of stunningly beautiful women approached our table to say hello to Aiden. They were all models, I could tell. I felt like a complete outsider, as if I didn't belong in the same room as them.
After they left, Aiden could see that I was feeling uncomfortable. "Hazel, are you okay?" he asked, taking my hand.
"I'm fine," I replied, forcing a smile.
We ordered our meals, and Aiden tried to make small talk to ease the tension. He talked about his law school classes and how busy he was with work. I listened but found it hard to contribute to the conversation. I couldn't stop thinking about the gorgeous women who had talked to him earlier.
As we finished our meals, Aiden brought up the topic of what had happened at Spencer's party. "Hazel, I wanted to talk to you about what happened at the party. I'm sorry for what I did. I know it was wrong."
I dismissed his apology, pretending like I didn't care. But deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling of hurt and betrayal that lingered. "It's fine, Aiden," I said, trying to hide my true emotions.
Once we were finished, Aiden drove me back to our apartment complex. We got into the elevator, and suddenly everything went black. I felt like I was falling, and then I hit the ground.
"Hazel, are you okay?" Aiden asked, hovering over me.
"I think so," I replied as Aiden helped me up.
"Let me call a doctor...." Aiden started to say.
"No, I'm perfectly fine. Sometimes, I get low blood pressure and get dizzy. My doctor says when this happens, I just need to relax, " I replied, not wanting Aiden to call a doctor. I would go to the doctor, but I personally hated going to the doctor.
Aiden looked unsure. "Are you sure. It really jot a problem calling Dr. Fields. He's always been my family's doctor and...."
"I'm fine, really. I'll just go home and go to bed, " I replied.
"If that's what you want." He said hesitantly.
"Yes, I'm just tired. I. Sure, it's nothing, " I replied.
"Ok, let me walk you to your apartment then," Aiden said.
"Oh no. That's not necessary. I can.." I tried to say.
"I'm coming with you. There's no way I'm letting you walk alone to your apartment, " He said.
I was honestly too tired to argue. "Ok," I whispered.
As we walked out of the elevator, I couldn't help but feel grateful for his care and concern. It made me wonder if there was more to Aiden than just his playboy reputation.
