HARVEY'S POV

As the private jet soared through the sky, I couldn't help but feel a bitter disdain for the opulence surrounding me. The plush seats, the polished surfaces, and the attentive flight attendants—all of it reminded me of a life I had never truly known. Every ounce of luxury felt undeserved, a painful reminder of the struggle I had endured to carve my own path.

I scoffed at their extravagant possessions, my eyes filled with a mix of resentment and determination. I had fought tooth and nail for everything I had, never granted the ease and privilege that seemed to come effortlessly to others. The flight attendants' presence near me only heightened my irritation, and I shot them piercing glares, silently daring them to encroach upon my personal space.

Slipping my headphones on, I sought solace in music, hoping to drown out the discordant reality around me. Yet, just as I began to lose myself in the melodies, my music abruptly halted. I removed my headphones, irritation etched on my face, only to find my so-called brother standing before me, an expectant look in his eyes.

My expression hardened, and I growled at him like a cornered animal, my voice laced with venom. "What do you want?"

Taken aback by my ferocity, he hesitated for a moment before gathering his composure. "I just wanted to talk, Harvey. About Jake."

I rolled my eyes, a sarcastic smirk playing on my lips. "Oh, so you're suddenly interested in my personal life? How convenient. No, we're not dating. We've just had a few make-out sessions. But don't worry, it's nothing serious."

His gaze held a mix of curiosity and judgment, but I refused to indulge him. He didn't deserve to know anything about the bond I shared with Jake, the depth of our connection, and the fierce love that had blossomed between us.

"You don't deserve to know anything," I retorted, my tone dripping with disdain. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'd prefer to drown out your presence."

Slipping my headphones back on, I shut myself off from the conversation, immersing myself in the melodies that spoke to my soul. The remainder of the journey was spent in tense silence, the weight of unspoken words hanging heavy in the air.

Finally, as we landed in New York, I removed my headphones and prepared to step off the aircraft. The city's vibrant energy greeted me, a stark contrast to the stifling atmosphere within the jet. With a newfound resolve, I vowed to navigate this new chapter on my own terms, regardless of the obstacles that lay ahead.

As I walked away from the aircraft, leaving behind the opulence and the pretense, I clung to the strength I had cultivated from my past, drawing upon the resilience that had carried me through the darkest of times. It was time to reclaim my autonomy, to forge my own path, and to prove that I was more than the sum of my past or the circumstances thrust upon me.

And as the city lights illuminated the night, I knew that my journey was far from over.

As we approached the grand, extravagant house that would be my new dwelling, I couldn't help but feel a surge of bitterness rise within me. The stone beneath my foot became an unwitting victim of my frustration as I kicked it out of my path, a physical manifestation of my rebellious spirit.

Entering the house, I cast a contemptuous glance at the gathered family members in the living room. Their eyes met mine, filled with a mixture of curiosity, longing, and wounded expressions. Alexander, my biological father, mustered the courage to break the uneasy silence.

"Harvey, please allow me to introduce everyone."

I scoffed, my voice dripping with indifference as I interrupted him. "Don't bother. I don't care."
