Damien

Harvey's sobs shook through her, and I held her tightly, letting her tears soak into my shirt. I carried her over to a large chair, settling her onto my lap, her body trembling against mine. She was inconsolable, and it was heartbreaking to see her like this.

As she sobbed, I noticed Killan watching us, his gaze filled with a mix of anger and something I couldn't quite place. He glared at me as if he wanted nothing more than for me to disappear. A triumphant smirk crept onto my face before I turned my focus back to Harvey.

Her sobs gradually subsided into hiccups, and she nuzzled into the crook of my neck. She sniffled and frowned, her voice trembling as she whispered, "Missed you."

I tightened my hold around her, warmth and relief flooding through me. "Yeah?" I asked softly, wanting to hear her say it again.

She nodded against me, her breaths slowly steadying. Just then I felt my shirt get wet. Harvey's sobs shook through her, and I held her tightly, letting her tears soak into my shirt. I carried her over to a large, plush chair in the corner of Killan's office, settling her onto my lap, her body trembling against mine.

She clung to me like a lifeline, her fingers digging into my shirt, her head buried against my chest. It was heartbreaking to see her like this, so vulnerable and broken.

I couldn't help but notice Killan watching us, his expression a mix of anger, hurt, and something I couldn't quite place. His eyes bore into me, as if he blamed me for Harvey's pain. A triumphant smirk crept onto my face, not out of malice but more of a victorious relief that I was here for her when she needed me the most. I had always promised to protect her, even from herself, and I wasn't about to let her down.

Killan's gaze flickered between Harvey and me, his jaw clenched. He didn't say a word, but the tension in the room was palpable.

As Harvey's sobs gradually subsided into hiccups, she nuzzled into the crook of my neck, seeking comfort. Her breathing began to steady, but she still clung to me like she was afraid I'd disappear.

I tightened my hold around her, relishing the feel of her in my arms. My heart ached for her, and I wanted to take away all her pain. "Missed you," she whispered again, her voice still trembling.

I pressed my lips to her hair, murmuring softly, "I missed you too, more than you can imagine."

Killan remained silent, his emotions masked behind a stoic facade. This moment between Harvey and me was intimate, raw, and perhaps a little uncomfortable for him.

I had questions of my own, questions about why she had disappeared and left me behind without a word. But right now, all that mattered was that she was back, and I wasn't about to let her go again.

As the tension in the room grew, I watched Harvey, her emotions laid bare in her eyes. She shifted in my lap, her movements delicate and uncertain. I didn't know where this conversation was headed, but I could sense it was important to her.

When she turned to Killan and uttered those words, "We need to talk," I couldn't help but stiffen. The gravity of her statement hung in the air, a palpable weight that we all felt. My gaze shifted between Harvey and Killan, wondering how this would unfold.

Harvey continued, and her words hit me like a punch in the gut. "I'm happy for you," she began, her voice quivering with vulnerability. "If you've found someone else who makes you happy." Her eyes, a mixture of sadness and longing, met Killan's. I could sense her pain, even though she tried to mask it with a faint smile.

Killan, on the other hand, appeared utterly perplexed by her words. "What?" he questioned, his voice betraying his confusion.

I watched Harvey swallow hard, her gaze falling to the ground. "She didn't mean anything," Killan protested, a hint of desperation in his tone. "She was just... a replacement?"

Silence hung in the room, thick and suffocating. Harvey's breaths were the only sound as she grappled with her emotions. Killan sighed, his weariness evident as he rubbed his face. "I haven't seen you properly in months," he confessed, his voice softening. "The last time you came, you kissed me and walked away. I needed... release, Harvs."

Harvey's eyes met Killan's, understanding and empathy in her gaze. But then, she looked at me, and I couldn't help but smile down at her. Her presence was a comforting balm to my own turmoil.

Killan's frustration reached its peak, and he slammed his hands on the table, demanding confirmation. "Damien agrees, right?"

I adopted a casual expression, playing my part in this unexpected drama. "I don't know what you're talking about," I replied, my voice light.

Killan's patience wore thin, and he erupted with anger. "She can't possibly be the only person you've been with!"

Harvey looked at Killan, her eyes wide with shock. Seeking refuge in my arms, she leaned closer, a complex mix of emotions swirling within her. I tightened my grip around her, my heart aching for the difficult path she was navigating. In the end, I offered a simple response, "So what if she is?"

In that charged moment, as the tension in the room reached its peak, I couldn't help but revel in the look of shock that briefly crossed Harvey's face. Her wide eyes turned to me, searching for confirmation, her voice filled with disbelief, "Really?"

I leaned in close, my lips grazing her ear as I murmured, "What'd you think, hmm?" My voice dipped into a husky whisper, and I watched her shiver in response. She clutched at my collar, and I couldn't resist the temptation. My lips found her neck, planting a lingering kiss there.

But before our stolen moment could stretch any longer, Killan abruptly got to his feet, sending his chair crashing back. He turned to Harvey, his intensity palpable. Leaning over me, he cupped her face gently in his hands and pressed his lips to hers. I leaned back, allowing them their moment, watching as their kiss unfolded.

The room was charged with a mixture of emotions – desire, confusion, and a hint of frustration. As I watched Killan and Harvey share that unexpected kiss, a rush of emotions flooded through me. I couldn't deny that I had missed her during those months of separation.

The sight of her with Killan, even after everything that had happened, stirred jealousy within me. But seeing her happiness, her willingness to be with both of us, began to calm the storm of emotions inside.

When they pulled away, Harvey turned to me, and I couldn't resist leaning down to kiss her, to taste the sweetness of her lips once more. Our kiss was filled with longing, the desire to bridge the gap that had grown between us.

As our lips parted, Killan's voice broke the silence, offering a solution to the complicated web of emotions we found ourselves entangled in. "Now you don't have to choose."

In that moment, a sense of relief washed over me. The weight of uncertainty lifted, and I realized that perhaps, just perhaps, there could be a way for the three of us to find happiness together.
