Chapter 22: Blackmailing

Sane entered Mukherjee Mansion being anxious. She was afraid that Manik told everyone about Sidharth's relationship with Hina. And if it was true everything would be complicated.

"Maa, Manik kothay?" (Maa, where is Manik?) Sana asked.

"Tui ekhon ekhane ki korchis? Asar aage ek baar janalio na. Kichu hoyeche?" (What are you doing here now? You didn't even inform us before coming. Has anything happened?") Pratima Ji asked seeing Sana there.

"Utna explain karne ka waqt nahi hai. Aap baatao Manik kidhar hai." Sana said being impatient.

"Apne kamre mein hi hoga." Manorama Ji said.

Without wasting any time, Sana ran towards Manik's room. But before going, Sana looked back for once. Her family members were looking normal.

"Inko dekh kar lagta nahi raha Manik ne abhi tak inhe kuch baataya hai." Sana said in her mind and then left.

On the other hand, Manik was playing his guitar furiously. His eyes were red as he was angry and hurt. Angry because he saw his Jiju cheating on his Didi. And hurt because his love was not ready to believe him.

While playing, the guitar's string suddenly broke. At that moment, Sana entered his room.

"Manik!" She uttered.

Seeing her, Manik kept the guitar aside and stood up.

"Didi, tu kab aayi?" Manik said smiling forcefully.

Sana went to him and said, "Yeh main kya sun rahi hoon Manik? Tune Nandu ke saath break up kar liya?"

Manik didn't say anything and took off his eyes to hide his emotions.

"Maine kaha tha na uska dil kabhi mat todna? Woh bohut sensitive hai. Kitna ro rahi thi tere liye. She loves you a lot." Sana said trying to make him understand.

"I also love her a lot. Lekin usse mujh par trust nahi hai. She doesn't want to believe that....."

Manik suddenly stopped saying.

Then Sana said, "That Sidharth is cheating on me? Tune iss galat faimi ki wajah se Nandu ko chhor diya?"

"Galat faimi?" Manik asked with disbelief. "That means you are also not trusting me."

Sana sighed and said, "Manik I'm trusting you. Tune jo dekha woh sach hai. Lekin iss mein Sidharth ki koi galti nahi hai."

"Didi tujhe sab kuch paata hai. Phir bhi tu uss admi ko defend kar rahi hai. Unbelievable!" Manik said laughing sarcastically.

"Manik tu meri puri baat sun le. Uske baad tujhe bhi yeh hi lagega ki Sidharth galat nahi hai."

"Nahi mujhe nahi sun na. Main sunta agar meri Didi mujhe samjhati. Lekin aaj mere saamne meri Didi nahi Shukla Khandan ki bahu khadi hai. Jise har haal mein apne Pati ko defend karna hai, apna ghar bachana hai. Meri Didi aisi nahi thi. Woh kabhi galat ka saath nahi deti thi, kabhi apne self respect ke saath compromise nahi karti thi."

"Manik tu kya bol raha hai? At least let me explain."

"Kya explain karegi? Apne Pati ke cheating karne ko justify karegi? Dekh Didi agar tujhe itna sab kuch hone ke bawajood uss admi se rishta rakhna hai toh tu.... Mere saath rishta mat rakh. Waise bhi main kaun hoon tera? Woh log tere apne hai. I'm just your cousin. Saga Bhai toh nahi hoon."

Hearing that, Sana got angry and slapped Manik. She never expected that he would say this to her.

"Agli baar se yeh baat kabhi mat bolna." Sana said with teary eyes. "Tu aur Sneha, tum dono mere khud ke Bhai Behen nahi ho. Lekin jitna pyaar main tum dono se karti hoon utna sayad main apne khud ke Bhai Behen se bhi nahi kar paati. Aur humara rishta itna kamzor nahi hai ki koi chhoti si galat faimi isse tod de. Samjha?"
