Chapter 45: Wedding Bells

After a few days...

Karan and Teju were sitting at a cafe. Today was first time in his life when he was this nervous. Yes, he was nervous as he was going to propose Teju for marriage while she had no idea about this.

"Sunny hum adhe ghante se idhar baithe hai. Ab toh kuch bol do." Teju said getting impatient.

"Haan woh.... Asal mein....." Karan tried to say but words didn't come out of his mouth. "5 minutes ruk jaao please. Phir baata ta hoon."

Teju nodded her head in disbelief hearing that.

Karan was about to say when a girl closed his eyes from behind. A smile immediately came to his face while Teju frowned.

"Anushka!" He said suddenly and the girl removed her hands.

"Oh My God! Karan tumne itne saalon baad bhi mujhe mere touch se hi pehchan liya? How's it possible?" Anushka said.

"It's my talent!" Karan said lifting up his collar. "By the way it's been a long time! How are you Anushka?"

"I'm good. What about you?" Anushka noticed Teju and asked Karan, "Your girlfriend?"

"Yeah, Tejasswi." Karan said introducing Teju. She gave a fake smile looking at Anushka.

"I'm Anushka. Karan's first girlfriend." Anushka said to which Teju widened her eyes.

"You know isne mujhe school time pe propose kiya tha. We were so in love. I'm sure yeh aaj bhi mujhe nahi bhul paaya hoga. Isliye dekho, touch se hi pehchan liya." She added further.

"True. Kuch yaadon ko bhulna bohut muskil hota hai." Karan said smiling. His smile made Teju more irritated.

After sometime, Anushka said, "Accha main chalti hoon. Mera boyfriend wait kar raha hoga. You guys enjoy."

Karan and Anushka waved each other goodbye and she left from there.

After that, Teju asked while smiling in anger, "Accha laga na, itne dino baad apni pehli girlfriend se milke?"

Karan couldn't understand that she was angry, so he replied casually, "Sach mein. Purani yaadein taaza hogayi."

"Haan haan. Of course. Pehli girlfriend hai. Aaj bhi touch se hi pehchan gaye. Kaafi gehra pyaar hoga, hai na?"

Karan now noticed the sarcasm in her voice.

"A.. aisa nahi hai....." He said nervously.

"Then why were you smiling at her?" Teju asked.

"I was not smiling. Mera face hi aisa hai. Bachpan se. I swear."

"Yeh patti kisi aur ko padhana. Tumhe abhi bhi apne purani girlfriends ki itni yaad aati hai toh unn hi ke paas jaao na. Mujhe yaaha aana hi nahi chahiye tha."

Saying that Teju took her purse and left from there.

"Teju ruko... Baby.... Laddo...."

Karan kept calling but she didn't stop.

"Shit!" He said banging on the table.

"Main sach mein gadha hoon. Kya zaroorat thi Anushka ke touch se usse pehchan ne ki? Itni girlfriends hai meri, I mean thi, unn mein se kisi ka naam le leta toh sayad itna nahi bhadakti. Aur meri yeh smile, kabhi bhi aa jaati hai. Iss smile ke chakkar mein aaj ki proposal ki saari planning barbaad ho gayi." He said to himself.

After sometime Teju returned.

"Sayad maine zyada react kar diya. Kisi ke touch se usse pehchan lena itni bhi badi baat nahi hai. Sayad Sunny mujhe bhi pehchan le."
