Unraveling Emotions

In college, Khwaahish and Armaan's bond continued to grow stronger with each passing day. Khwaahish couldn't help but notice the way her heart skipped a beat whenever Armaan passed by her side, giving her a sweet smile. The things that once annoyed her about him now seemed endearing, and she found herself falling for him, little by little.

Their group of friends also played a significant role in their budding relationship. They would often tease Khwaahish about her feelings for Armaan when he wasn't around, but they always stopped when he entered the picture. It made Khwaahish feel relieved and grateful that her friends respected their bond and didn't push the teasing too far.

 they had to work on a group project together, and they decided to meet at a cozy cafe. However, they ended up getting engrossed in their conversation and lost track of time. The cafe staff had to remind them that they were closing soon. They laughed at their shared inability to focus on the task ....but then also there projects were a great success.

During an antakshari game with their senios , khwaahish sang a song with her soulful voice. As she stole glances at Armaan, he pretended to be focused on his work, but a smile gave away his true attention. After her performance, he complimented her, and their unspoken connection deepened, filling their hearts with joy and the promise of something beautiful.(the song  was nazm-nazm)

Though Khwaahish cherished these moments and the growing connection between her and Armaan, she also had a hint of nervousness. She wondered if Armaan felt the same way about her, or if she was just imagining things. Despite her doubts, she couldn't deny the warmth and happiness that filled her heart whenever she was around him.

Next day:-

Armaan is going to cafeteria for a work where he overheard the news from juniors which fueled his anger...

Armaan, feeling agitated after hearing some juniors discussing his relationship with Khwaahish in the cafeteria, decided to step outside for some fresh air. The rumors were spreading like wildfire, and he couldn't bear the thought of Khwaahish being dragged into such gossip.

As he walked outside, his mind filled with conflicting emotions. He didn't want to confront Khwaahish in anger or let the rumors affect their friendship. Instead, he chose to express his concerns through a thoughtful message.

Armaan took out his phone, opened the messaging app, and began typing his message to Khwaahish:

Armaan: Hey Khwaahish, I hope you're doing well. Something happened at the cafeteria, and I overheard some juniors discussing our supposed relationship. It seems like there are rumors spreading around. I wanted to clarify things with you directly.

Armaan paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts. He wanted to choose his words carefully, conveying his intentions without causing any misunderstanding.

Armaan: I want you to know that I have the utmost respect for our friendship. I don't have any romantic feelings for you, and I believe you don't have any for me either. I value our bond, and I want to protect it from unnecessary complications.

He took a deep breath, hoping that his message would convey his sincerity and concern for her well-being.

Armaan: Given the circumstances, I think it's best if we maintain some distance for now. I don't want you to face any difficulties or awkward situations because of these rumors. Our friendship means a lot to me, and I want to preserve it without any complications or misunderstandings.

Armaan re-read his message, making sure it expressed his thoughts accurately. He knew that his decision might sadden both of them, but he believed it was the right thing to do.

With a mix of sadness and determination, Armaan pressed the send button, allowing his message to make its way to Khwaahish. He couldn't predict her reaction, but he hoped she would understand and appreciate his honesty.

As he put his phone back in his pocket, Armaan prepared himself for the days ahead, knowing that their friendship would face new challenges. He hoped that Khwaahish would see his actions as a way to protect her and their bond, even if it meant creating distance between them.

at Girl's hostel:-

Khwahish, feeling a pang of hurt, read Armaan's message with a painful smile. She looked up at the sky, addressing her thoughts to a higher power, expressing her disappointment at how things had ended even before they had a chance to blossom.

After a few minutes of contemplation, Khwahish composed her reply, determined to maintain a composed and understanding demeanor.

Khwahish: Hey sir , I appreciate your honesty and respect your feelings. I understand the need for distance, and I want you to know that we're good even with some space between us. I've always valued our friendship, and I never had any romantic feelings for you.

As she typed those words, she couldn't help but feel a sense of acceptance washing over her. She realized that her initial crush on Armaan was just a fleeting infatuation, and she now understood that their friendship meant more to her than any romantic involvement.

With a bittersweet smile, Khwahish pressed the send button, acknowledging that this was the right path for both of them. She knew that their friendship would endure, even if their dynamics had shifted.

As she put her phone down, Khwahish reflected on the lessons she had learned. Sometimes, what we envision as a fairytale romance may not align with reality.

at Boy's hostel:-

As Armaan read Khwahish's message filled with maturity and understanding, a bittersweet smile formed on his face. He admired her ability to handle the situation with such grace and respect. However, deep down, a restlessness lingered within him.

Though Khwahish had clarified that she never had any romantic feelings for him, a part of Armaan couldn't help but wonder why. He pondered over the moments they had shared, the growing bond between them, and the connection he had felt. Was it all in his imagination? Had he misread the signs?
