The haldi ceremony was in full swing, with the vibrant yellow paste being applied generously to my hands and face. Ridaanshi, always the cheerful one, couldn't resist teasing me.

Ridaanshi: "Khwahish bhabhi, you're positively glowing even before the haldi has touched your skin. What's your secret?"

I laughed, a bit self-conscious about the attention. "Well, I guess it's the happiness of the occasion."

Saina, who had always been supportive, chimed in, "Of course, Khwahish. Love can do that to a person."

Simran, my best friend who had traveled all the way from Canada, joined the conversation. "Speaking of love, you never really told me how you ended up choosing Armaan. You know I was quite angry with you at first."

I sighed, understanding her initial concerns. "I know, Simran, and I'm sorry for not explaining earlier. You see, it's a bit of a long story. But once you know the circumstances, you'll understand."

Simran leaned in with curiosity. "Alright, spill the beans. I'm all ears."

I began recounting the tale of how Armaan and I had crossed paths, from our initial meetings to the unexpected twists that had brought us closer.

Simran listened intently, her initial reservations gradually fading as she realized that love had genuinely led us to this point.

After my story, Simran said, "I get it now, Khwahish. Love isn't always a straightforward path. Sometimes, it takes unexpected turns, and you find yourself where you're meant to be."

With a smile, I replied, "Exactly, Simran. And I couldn't be happier."

As the haldi ceremony continued, I couldn't help but glance at my family. Their eyes were filled with pride and a hint of sadness as they saw me, their beloved daughter, soon to be a bride. The emotions in the room were palpable, a mix of joy, nostalgia, and love.

Amidst all the teasing, laughter, and emotions, I couldn't wait for the grand wedding day when Armaan and I would officially become husband and wife.

The mehndi function was in full swing, and everyone was engrossed in the celebration. The air was filled with laughter, music, and the sweet aroma of mehndi paste.

The intricate designs on my hands and feet were taking shape beautifully, but there was something missing - Armaan.

As the night grew darker, my longing for him became more pronounced. I couldn't help but reach for my phone and dial his number. My heart raced as it rang, and I hoped he would answer.Armaan's voice finally came through, warm and comforting, "Hello"

A sense of relief washed over me as I heard his voice. "Armaan, it's me, Khwahish."

He chuckled softly, "I know, love. I have your number saved, remember?"

I couldn't help but smile, even though he couldn't see it. "Right. I just..."

There was a pause on the other end, and I could almost picture him with a peacefull expression. "I miss you too, Khwahish."

I sighed, feeling a bit better knowing he felt the same way. "I wish you were here with me, seeing all this."

"How much darker is your mehndi color, Mrs. Future Chauhan?" he asked, his voice filled with playful curiosity.

I couldn't contain my blush as I replied, "Not much darker, Armaan."

He chuckled softly, a sound that made my heart dance. "I'll be the judge of that when I see you tomorrow. I can't wait"

His words were like a soothing melody to my anxious heart, reassuring me that everything would be perfect. "Tomorrow is the day  "

With a tone of promise, he replied, "Yes, it is. And let me remind you, my love for you will only increase from here on out. There's no chance for it to decrease."

His words were like a vow, a promise of everlasting love and devotion. I couldn't hold back my tears of happiness. "i love you "

"I love you more than words can express, Khwahish," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. We talked for hours, sharing our dreams and hopes for the future.

Armaan assured me that no matter what challenges we faced, our love would remain unwavering. It was the perfect way to spend the night before our wedding, strengthening our bond even further.

As the call came to an end, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Tomorrow, we would become husband and wife, and I knew in my heart that this was the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

With Armaan by my side, I was ready to face whatever life had in store for us, confident that our love would continue to grow, with no chance of ever decreasing.

As we said our goodnights , I knew that even in our physical separation, our hearts were more connected than ever. The mehndi on my hands seemed to glow a bit brighter, as if it was painting our love story for everyone to see.
