today was my first ultrasound in Madrid

it took some time to settle into the new house, but everything is in place now and we finally managed to find an appointment for an ultrasound, as all the appointments had been filled for a while

"you think we'll find out the gender yet?" he asks as we enter the hospital

"nah, i asked your mum, she said it won't be till i'm at least 4 months along"

"you're 14 weeks through right"

"aww, you're keeping track" i smile at him

he blushes slightly

"it's cute" i tell him as he smiles

"you know" he smiles as he looks at his phone "baby is as big as a lemon now"

"oh my days, Mia has been pestering me with that app all week, now you've got it?"

"i find it cute"

"i can't lie, it is"

we walk into the doctor's office

she instructs me to lay on the examining bed as Jude takes a seat

she squeezes on the cold gel, begins to move the device around

seconds later, a sound begins to play

"that's their heartbeat" she smiles as i feel the urge to get emotional

a picture appears on the screen

"oh wow, twins" she smiles "did you know?" she asks me

i look at her, taken aback

"what? no"

she wipes the gel off my stomach and grabs a piece of paper from the printer nearby the scanner and hands it to me

"congratulations, they're twins"

i look at the photo in shock, i was happy, but it's definitely not what i expected

as we exit the room Jude looks at me

"2 of them, can you believe it?!" he smiles, wrapping an arm around my back

"you must have really missed me then that night" i smirk at him jokingly as he nudges me and laughs

"i think i'm excited" i smile

"you'll be such a good mother, i'm sure of it"

"hey Denise" i smile as she answers the facetime

"hey darling, how did the ultrasound go?"

"amazing" Jude who was sat next to me chips in

i bring out the photo from my purse and put it in front of the camera

"why does it feel like it looks weird, almost like- NO, you're having twins?" she says shocked

i smile and nod as i can feel Jude kiss to top of my head

"i can't believe it, i am so happy for youse!" she smiles "god i wish Shelly and John were here to see this"

"me too" i say as i feel a tear travelling down my face, to which Jude notices and holds me closer

"anyways, you should be finding out the genders very soon" she says trying to bring my thoughts away

"yeah, the doctor said next ultrasound" Jude chips in

"imagine if they're identical" i add

"yeah, how are we meant to tell them apart?"

"give them shirts with their names on it" Denise laughs

"and no matter what, no footie in the house" i laugh

"nooo" Jude whines

"you still have the garden" Denise shrugs

"no way" he smiles randomly as were sat on the sofa "guess who's coming to Madrid?"

"who?"

"the weekend, he's got a concert next week"

"NO WAY"

"we have to go"

"pleasseee, i've always wanted to go to a concert of his for so long"

"i'll get us some nice tickets"

i smile and peck him a kiss
