Heartache

She felt lost, confused, and exhausted. 

Her eyes darted here and there, 

and she nibbled at her nails nervously. 

Her heart pounded loudly against her chest, 

and she couldn't make sense of her feelings anymore. 

She kept getting mixed signals from the man she loved, 

knowing he had someone else. Despite the pain, 

she couldn't help but feel hopeful, 

only to have her heart broken in the end.
