Kathy: (drops books on ground) (looks embarrassed)

Jane: Let me help you. (picks up books)

Kathy: (mutters) Thanks. I'm Kathy.

Jane: (slightly shocked) Oh. Joe's talked about you. He likes you.

Kathy: I know, but I don't like him that way. He's a player.

Jane: (laughs) He's my ex.

They say to play the role, you must first be the role. Unfortunately, I sustained a more drastic approach.

"Just hold my hand!" Aaron whispered, giving me an annoyed glare. "It's really not that difficult."

I rolled my eyes and obliged as we unwillingly intertwined fingers. "Your hands are so cold! Do we have to do this?" I groaned.

"Yes," my earpiece intruded. I nearly jumped, forgetting that someone was monitoring us at this very moment as Aaron and I had a 'date' at a very exclusive park.

"Who is telling us what to do again?" I questioned, not having met this person.

"My name is Nick! God, get it right," he screamed through my earpiece. Aaron held his, too, and winced.

"Sorry, it's hard to remember things I don't care about," I muttered low enough that he couldn't hear.

"Why are you even doing this? Where's your dad? Shouldn't my management be doing this?" Aaron asked, pausing to kick a leaf.

"I told you. Dad wanted me to do this because he believes that someone young should be organizing a date, not middle-aged people wearing blazers," Nick replied.

I looked around the park. If you took your time, the area here was truly beautiful. Trees were swaying against the California breeze as I chose to walk on the patchy grass rather than the hard concrete. We had fine weather today, sunny yet not too hot; just windy. Suddenly the thought occurred to me. "How are you even seeing us?" With all the giant trees hovering over us, you would think that it's impossible for anyone to even catch a glimpse of us.

"Ugh, celebrities think they have to know everything, don't they? For people who don't want the paps snooping in your lives, you shouldn't be asking me how I live mine!" Nick sneered, before I heard a beep that indicated he was done talking. At least for now.
