Chapter Three:

"Very well, Kade. But please understand that not everything comes at an easy price." Raziel explains, his golden eyes stare into my own dull brown ones with uncertainty.

"I get it. Just tell me."

With an impatient fold of my tanned arms—compliments from my Spanish and Australian heritage—I stand a few centimeters away from the large bowl. Raziel clasps his hands together in front of his robe as he stands effortlessly in front of me, his bright eyes staring down at me; his white robe sways with an invisible breeze.

He begins to talk as he notices my patience thinning.

"These two choices I am about to inform you of may sound harsh or unfair, but like I said; not everything comes at an easy price. I tried my best to obtain simpler and fairer two choices, but I was unable to do so. I will understand if you wish to change your mind after I have explained the rules and conditions."

An annoyed groan escapes past my tight lips. "Would you just hurry it up already? Get to the conditions."

"As you wish," he replies gently. "There are two choices that you have to decide on before I send you back to the Earth plane. These are the only choices you have, nothing more and nothing less. There will be no negotiations or changes, do you understand this, Kade?"

". I understand."

Raziel nods competently. "The first vital choice I attained was simply this: once you have eventually united with your soul mate, there is to be no DNA swapping."

I stare at him blankly as he finishes speaking. That's the first choice?

"What kind of dumb ass choice is that? What the fuck does that even mean exactly?"

"It means that you are not allowed to swap any body fluids." He explains slowly.

"You mean no sex!? I find my soul mate and I'm not allowed to have sex with her! Are you fuckin' kidding me right now? What kind of sick shit is this?" I bark at him, each word venomously passing through my lips.

"That is correct, there will be no love-making allowed. There will be no kissing. There will be no exchanging body fluids. If you choose this choice, and if you happen to swap DNA with your soul mate, you will instantly be sent to Heaven without any time to spare goodbye's." He continues smoothly, not even slightly fazed by my spit that glistens against his vibrant skin.

"What kind of twisted choice is that? Why would I not be able to 'swap body fluids'? You want me to be with my soul mate, yet you're telling me that won't be physically possible!"

This makes no sense.

"It is only the first choice, one that you do not need to decide on. I know it may sound unfair after I have told you that I want you to have a chance at a new life and with your soul mate, but you have to understand that love is not always physical. Love is about the soul, about the heart - feelings, emotions, desire. You can still be with your soul mate without swapping body fluids. You can hold each other, you can just be with each other without physicality." He clarifies calmly.

"Amigo, this isn't 1864. People these days don't give a shit about the sappy love. It's all about the sex and the making-out. There is no relationship without anything physical, trust me. Tried that, and failed - big time. Me without sex equals not a happy hormonal guy." I let out an amused snort.

"I understand that it may be hard for you to believe that there is more to a relationship than the physicality of it, but it is possible. Once you have met your soul mate and felt the connection, your hearts will be joined, your souls will be linked together and just being with your love will be enough," he responds with confidence, with absolute certainty that a relationship can last without sex.
