Let me start by saying that this isn't going to be a chapter; I'm sorry, if you were expecting an update, but you'll have to wait until Sunday for that.
So what is this then?
Well, the title says announcement, but it's more of an inquiry; it's me, coming up with an idea and since you always give me good feedback (for which I love, love, LOVE you!) and I value your opinion, I've decided to share that idea with you and see what your thoughts on it are. So here's the thing:
I'M THINKING OF POSTING SOME SHORT EXTRAS IN THIS BOOK IN BETWEEN CHAPTERS; WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?
What I mean is a new chapter each Sunday, but once a week (let's say on Thursday) I post some extra like a character profile or short trivia, or a spoiler-free answer to a FAQ about the Dogs, Bats & Monkeys series.
For example, it could be something like:
• March 05 (Sunday)- Ch. 11
• March 09 (Thursday) - Rhys' character profile
• March 12 (Sunday) - Ch. 12
• March 16 (Thursday) - a short deleted scene from this book
• March 19 (Sunday) - Ch. 13
• March 23 (Thursday)- some Dogs, Bats & Monkeys fact or the recipe to a character's favorite meal
And so on.
What do you say?
Does it sound good?
Or do you prefer story chapters only?
Either way, why?
Even though I usually get a resounding YES! when I ask you if you'd like something extra, I'd love to hear your opinion on this! After all, if I start doing this, it will be a regular, weekly thing.
Would it put you off to have extras in between the chapters?
Do you think it will break the story's rhythm?
Mind you, the extras will be titled *Date* EXTRA (March 09 EXTRA, March 16 EXTRA, etc.) and the chapters - Chapter *Number* (Chapter 11, Chapter 12, etc.) so it will be easy to tell them apart and skip the extras if you don't want to read them.
I'm also planning to give you the option to "vote" for each week's extra.
How would that work?
Each week, in the EXTRA chapter, I'll enlist a couple of possible extras for the next week. You can "vote" for the one you'd like to see next by telling me which it is in the comments. You'll have until Sunday to do that, when I'll announce the winner in the chapter update. That way you'll know what to look forward to as the next extra and I'll have three days to create it.
