YOUR POV
DAY 50
"I don't believe you!"
Orian laughs while shaking his head.
"You must! I really did participate in an eating contest once! I even won!"
I roll my eyes and unlock my phone.
I've gotten a few messages from Zoa.
She's worried about Orian.
I text and her about everything that's happened.
Apparently she's scared that Orian won't know who she is as well so, she won't call him.
I look up from my phone and see what Orian's up to. He's fiddling with some paper. I guess he's trying to do some origami.
Orian is going to get discharged from the hospital tomorrow.
I'm sitting by him while he's on the bed. It's visiting hours.
His parents are on their way here as well. I think they'll be here by evening.
I've taken a leave from work today as well. Somebody else is going to take my shift for the day.
I look out of the small window in this hospital's room.
The sky seems so dull today. It's grey instead of blue. It might rain.
I feel a tap on my shoulder and look towards Orian.
He has this huge smile on his face.
"I've created a paper swan! Behold my holy powers!
He hands it over to me. It's very beautiful but the beak of this paper bird seems a bit crooked.
"Do you like it?"
Orian looks at me with a curious smile.
"It's neat!"
I try to sound happy and convincing but my voice is so hollow. Maybe it's because that's how I feel at the moment.
Orian nods at my answer and zones out.
I notice that his hair needs trimming.
"Orian, your fringe is growing out of control!"
I try a laugh and mess up his hair.
He has a sad smile on his face and doesn't give much reaction.
"Is everything alright?"
He shakes his head. I think I know what he's going to say.
"Why did my memory fail on me?"
"It's not your fault you know...."
He lies down.
"Whatever."
He hugs a pillow and burries his face into it.
I don't know what to say at this moment. I have a degree in the English language but I can't even form words.
