I have to warn you, this book is a long one. There are a total of nearly 130,000 words in this book (not including this author's note or the final one.) In case you were wondering, that equals out to about 433 pages of an average-sized print which is ten pages more than The Fellowship of The Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.
And they say Wattpad doesn't count as real reading...
Although I have done my best to edit as I posted each chapter, there may still be grammar, punctuation or spelling mistakes that I've missed. Feel free to drop a comment and point them out so they can be fixed!
It is important to note that this story has a strong mystery subplot. You are more than welcome to leave your theories in the comments but, and this is for all my re-readers out there (hi, thank you for coming back, I'm glad you enjoyed it enough for seconds), please do not leave spoilers! This book attempts to biologically explain the science between mates, the origin of Lycanthropes, and the anatomical possibilities of Vampirism. Obviously these things are not possible, however, I was so sick of the Wattpad explanation of Lycanthropy being "moon goddesses and magic" that I decided to put a twist on it. I am not a biology major nor a doctor, but I have tried to fact-check myself enough to make it believable to someone who is very familiar with the inner workings of biology. I only ask for an extension of grace if there happen to be mistakes.
Also to be noted: this story contains a Deaf character. Any time the protagonist or anyone else is communicating with him, it will be noted in the dialogue that they are signing. As a student of ASL and someone who has been immersed in Deaf culture, I understand that people who sign do not do so using the same rules of grammar or sentence structure that hearing English speakers do. But, for the sake of storytelling, these characters will be signing in a way that will make sense for those who speak and read English.
It is also important to note that at no point in this story is a physical description given of Ella. This is intentional. I figured that staying vague and neutral in the aspect of her ethnicity, body type and other physical characteristics would allow readers to better be able to envision Ella the way they wanted to. So, feel free to make her look however your imagination would like her to.
