The next morning he woke early to Mum screaming at Cosmo, who obviously hadn't cleaned up. He sat up, head fuzzy with sleep still, and glanced at the clock. 5.57am. Mum must've stayed all night at work- a time zone thing, perhaps. She was a high-flying lawyer and had never believed in free time, half of her clients calling in from regions whose cities were rising just as England went to sleep.
The thing about Mum was that she never let things slide, not even for an hour or two. So when she saw the state of the downstairs bathroom she stormed right up the stairs and woke Cosmo up to shout at him because... Well, no time like the present, right?
Jared groaned and buried his head in the duvet. He wouldn't get back to sleep now.
