The family, Jake, Bella and I all gathered outside away from the party. Alice explained to everyone what she had seen and I was beginning to feel really anxious and nervous about this, why would someone do this?
"Who's behind this?" Edward asked with a hard gaze locked onto Alice's small frame.
Alice shrugged slightly, "I didn't see anyone I recognized. Maybe one." She spoke, her arms crossed as if she was protecting herself from the dangers ahead.
"I know his face. He's local, Riley Biers. He didn't start this." Edward frowned as he looked over his family who all held concerned expressions.
"Whoever did is staying out of the action." Alice nodded backing her brother up. I ran a hand through my hair, this can't be good for us.
"They must be playing with the blind spots in both both of your visions." Carlisle looked between me and Alice with certainty while I felt a little uncertain about everything.
A hand wrapped around my arm making me look over to the source, Jasper was of course giving me a confused and concerned look from what I was feeling, "is something wrong? What do you know?" He asked and now the entire room was silent making me feel slightly anxious and trapped. I shouldn't be feeling this way, I'm not hiding anything, or am I missing something? Something I do not remember and need to.
"She's just trying to piece everything together, she will find something." Edward spoke making me sigh in relief, I really did need to figure this out.
Jasper seemed to brush it off as he changed the subject, "either way, the army's coming and there aren't enough of us to protect the town."
"Hold up. What damn army?" Jake asked next.
"Newborns. Our kind." Carlisle replied calmly.
"What are they after?" Jake really didn't know was going on, who's job was it to fill him in so he doesn't act like a lost puppy all the time?
"They were passing around Bella's scent. They also took something of Violet's, I couldn't see what it was." Alice said, I frowned. Why would they want something of mine?
"They're after Bella? What the hell does this mean?" Jake asked.
"It means an ugly fight with lives lost." I spoke up, staring off into space as I was deep in thought. Visions were flashing in my mind, the only thing I could see. Who would change a boy like Riley Biers? Why would someone need him?
"Alright, we're in." Jake said breaking me from my thoughts. I was about to protest against the idea but Bella stepped forward.
"No. You'll get yourselves killed. No way." She argued, shaking her head.
"I wasn't asking for permission." Jake shot back seriously.
"Jasper . . ." She looked to him expectantly. While I crossed my arms and looked at my mate with a raised eyebrow.
He saw my expression and turned back to Bella, "it means more protection for you."
"Jacob, do you believe Sam would agree to . . . an understanding?" Carlisle asked him hopefully.
Jake was going to answer but I beat him to it, "of course he will. All they will want is kill a bunch if vampires." I smiled as I saw Jake nod in agreement.
"Well, that can be arranged." Emmett smirked, Rose slapped his arm angrily and rolled her eyes. They're such a great couple.
This whole thing was getting out of hand and it needs to be stopped, obviously my brothers aren't going to be doing anything so it was up to us. We just needed to figure out who was behind this, maybe it's someone we know. It has to be, right? Why would some random want Bella dead? So it has to be someone we know, possibly not well.
Thinking back, I remember someone saying something about an army. Who was it? A woman? Yes, I remember now, I remember the vibrant red hair I knew all too well.
You think it's Victoria? A voice wormed it's way into my mind. I lifted my head and saw Edward standing across from me with a frown.
Has to be. Who else could it be? I thought towards him and he shrugged. Don't tell anyone, until we're sure. I don't want them to freak out about this. Got it? He nodded in understanding and we left it at that. I can't, but slightly can, believe Victoria would do this. Edward did kill her mate after all and karma really can be a bitch.
