After catching up with everyone and training, it was time to go to bed. It was around ome in the morning when I went to an empty bedroom with no Xavier or files in sight.

I had taken a shower and had hoped that he would be sprawled out in the bed we shared, but he wasn't.

Mr. Whiskers was laying on some pillows, waiting for me to go to bed and cuddle with him.

Slowly, I walked over to him, my eyes able to pick up the dimness in the room and picked him up. I stroked his head as I looked at him, cocking mine. "How did you survive?" I asked, not expecting an answer. "How did you find me?"

The bunny didn't reply, but I could have sworn that his only eye blinked.

I lifted my bunny until his ear was close to my mouth. "Are you cursed?" I asked. "Or are you alive?" I lifted the rabbit's mouth to my ear and waited for a response.

Nothing.

I sighed and placed it down before going to my window when I heard a knock on it. I opened the window to see Commander sitting in a tree with a bag near him. "Are you coming in?" I asked, causing him to shake his head.

"Just delivering a package," he said, handing it to me. "I snuck one of Xavier's shirts for you."

I nodded my head and took the bag from him. "What's in it?" I asked.

"New uniforms and stuff as well as an earpiece. Figured you would need it," he said. "Julian gave you your care package like he was supposed to?"

"Yes, Commander," I replied. I looked away from him and at the bag that was in my hands.

"How are you holding up?"

I shrugged my shoulder. "I'll be ok," I said, offering him a tight smile. "I don't know if I can fall asleep, though."

Commander nodded his head, scowling. "I would say that you can work, but your uncle wants you to take it easy."

I nodded. "I just... want him to tell me, ya know?" I asked, causing him to nod his head. "I don't understand why he is scared."

Commander sighed and shifted on the branch. "I think he is scared of losing you. Has he told you that?"

I nodded my head. "He said that he was falling for me."

"And?"

I leaned against the windowsill and sighed. "And... I think I fell for him," I said. I knew I wasn't falling for him. I had already fallen for him.

"Does he know?"

I shook my head. "I tried talking to him, but he just doesn't..." I shook my head and moved a hand through my hair. I was frustrated and tired.

All I wanted to do was march over there and beg him to tell me, but that was something that I physically couldn't do.

I couldn't go over there and beg for an explanation when I was petrified of being rejected and ignored. I knew how it felt. I knew the hurt, the pain of being rejected, and being rejected by him could be my undoing.

Commander growled softly and pursed his lips. "Keep fighting to stay alive. Do you understand me? If need be, I will personally take you and your little family back and away from him until he gets is shit together. Ok?"
