Okay here's another chapter. I might update three times this weekend instead of my usual two.

---------------------------------------------

Niall's p.o.v.

Knock knock. I glanced down at my phone. It was just after 10:30. My appointment isn't until 11:30, so who's at my door?

I got up and walked across the room, unlocking them knob then opening the door. A young girl was standing there, looking like she was about to cry.

"Umm, hi," I said awkwardly.

"Where are the bathrooms?" she asked in a voice barely above a whisper.

"Are you okay?" I asked, suddenly concerned for this girl. She nodded quickly, taking a step back.

"Okay, well, I'll show you where the bathrooms are," I said, reaching out to grab her arm but she jerked away from me.

"Don't hurt me please," she pleaded shakily.

"Hey hey, I'm not gonna hurt you. I promise," I said, holding out my hand.

She looked at me tearily for a long time before she hesitantly took my hand, almost in slow motion, and I could feel her shaking.

"I'm Niall, what's your name?" I asked, walking her slowly towards the bathroom.

"T-Tess," she stammered quietly.

"That's a pretty name," I told her, squeezing her hand gently as we reached the bathrooms.

"Thank you," she whispered, letting go of my hand and stepping towards the bathroom and grabbing the handle.

"Will you wait for me?" she asked in a small voice.

"Of course babe," I assured her.

She turned bright red and quickly stepped into the bathroom and shut the door.

I waited until she walked back out of the bathroom, and smiled at her, to let her know she was safe with me.

"So are you new here?" I asked, unsure of what else to say.

"I just got here today," she answered shyly.

"It's really pretty nice here, except the food is kinda gross," I explained honestly.

"You don't have to walk with me," she replied.

"I don't mind, I was bored anyways," I said with a smile.

"Okay," she whispered, looking a little happier.

"So how old are you?" I asked.

"16," she answered.

"Man I feel old. I'm 21," I joked, trying to make her laugh. She didn't.

"So where are you going now?" I changed the subject.

"To my appointment with the doctor," she said, sounding a little less terrified now.

"I'll go with you. I think my appointment is right after yours so I'll just sit outside and text or something, unless that makes you uncomfortable," I amended quickly, knowing that she was very timid.

"I'd like that," she whispered, looking down and blushing hard.

"You don't have to be scared, you know, everyone's nice here," I pointed out.

"I'm sorry," she said, almost inaudibly.

"No, no, don't apologize, I just want you to feel safe," I said hurriedly, not sure why the hell she was apologizing.

"Oh, thank you," she said, looking me in the eyes for the first time.

"Your welcome Tess," I said, looking at her.

"You have pretty eyes," she said. Then her eyes got wide with fear and she backed away.

"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.

"I shouldn't have said that, I shouldn't have, oh no, he he," she trailed off, starting to cry.

She leaned against the wall and started sliding down towards the ground.

I quickly ran over to her and grabbed her waist, preventing her from falling.

"No ones gonna hurt you I promise," I said over and over until she calmed down.

Then I walked her over to the couch in the doctors lobby area. Right as she sat down, the door opened, and out walked the doctor.

"Ready tess?" he asked. "Oh, hi Niall," he said upon seeing me.

"I was just showing her how to get here," I said, with a nod.

"Oh okay, well thank you," he answered, leading Tess inside.

"I'll see you in half an hour," he said to me before shutting the door. I nodded to him, then flopped down onto the couch to think about some things.

For some reason, I felt so much happier than I'd been in months. Being with Tess had made everything better. Like maybe everything - everything about you you you - wasn't so bad. Like there is a possibility of things getting better.
