Everything was pitch dark. The darkness around me seemed as if it would consume me. Suddenly feeling breathless, I started gasping for air. Breathing heavily, I looked around trying to figure anything in the darkness.

I was drowning, right?

My heart started beating faster when the flashes of me drowning started to fill up my mind.

"Hey!" I heard and the next moment the lights were turned on and I saw Karthik standing beside the bed.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Why was it so dark?" I asked, impatiently.

"You.. were sleeping. I turned the lights off" he told me.

"I don't like darkness!" I said in a high pitch.

I didn't like being in dark even for a second! Waking up to it made my whole body tremble.

"I didn't know"

"I told you!"

How could he forget? I just told him last night!

"So what? It's not a big deal! You aren't a kid, for God's sake!"

"It is. A big deal." I told him, a little calmly this time.

He sighed and took a step back, rubbing his forehead with his left hand.

"Okay" he said, more to himself and then looked back at me.

"I was drowning"

"Yeah, you were saved" he told me instantly.

"Uhh. Thank God! I thought I'd die!!" I let out a sigh of relief.

I didn't want to die at such young age!

"So... What were you thinking till now? That you weren't saved and you died?" I heard Karthik say.

I looked into his direction. He looked a bit... Amused?

"Ugh! I don't want to talk to you. Where's Amaya?" I asked. I didn't want to be with him right now. But then, something came up to my mind. I looked down at myself and...

Ugh!

I was wearing an oversized black t-shirt. Peeking under the blanket I looked further and yes, nothing beneath it. Just my inner garments.

Awesome!

I drew a long breath with my eyes closed and then looked at Karthik, who was watching me with his new found amusement. Hand folded across his chest.

"Mind telling me? Who got me changed?" I asked through my gritted teeth.

"Who do you think?" He asked.

Don't test me patience Mr. Ahuja!

"Not you, definitely! For you don't look like a person who would care if someone Catches cold or even dies! " I blurted out.

His expression changed. The amusement vanished, and the jaw tightened.

"Right" he said "There's still time for sunrise. Sleep." he walked out of the room.

I looked at the time and it was 3 in the morning. Feeling drowsy, I slept again.

Due to the incident that happened with me, Karthik and I had stayed the night at the farmhouse itself. So, in the morning, we went back home. Everyone was worried for me. It felt really good to know that now, so many people actually cared about me!
