Two weeks and three days have passed since Nick's birthday. That means two weeks and four days have passed since the day Nick first decided he wanted to ask Savannah out. Since then, he still hasn't been able to work up the courage to do so.
When he walked into Mr. Romero's class on Monday morning, he was determined. He was going to ask her out today. He immediately spotted her sitting in her usual seat at the back of the class and he felt his heart ache in his chest. How was he supposed to try and ask someone as perfect as her out on a date? He had no chance.
As soon as Nick turned to Savannah when he sat down in his seat beside her, he was attacked. With a kiss on the cheek, of course. That had become a usual occurrence now but it still made Nick's heart stutter.
Savannah pulled back away from him with a grin, "Good morning, Nicky!"
Yeah, there was no way he would ever have a chance with her.
