Victoria's pov.

Today I didn't have class so I was just walking around campus with Steph and we're just invited to a party and of course, she wants to invite Tessa. We were looking for her and we found her at the library.

"Guess what?" Steph said to Tessa
"We're gonna go to a party tonight," I said.
"I don't know," Tessa says.
"You're going," Steph tells her
"Don't you want to have fun?" I said. 
"Shh," someone told us
"You shh," Steph said back.
"Yeah, of course, I do," Tessa says
"Then grab your shit," I said and Steph grabs her books and we start walking away.
"Steph okay okay," Tessa says.
"Let's get ready to party," I said running after Steph.

We got back to our dorm and start getting ready. I decided to wear jeans shorts with a cute blue crop top. Of course, Tessa doesn't know what to wear she shows a red dress which is too formal for a college party.

We left for the party and Steph went to look for Tristan and Tessa was following me around into I spot Noah ran up to him.
"Hey amor," I said kissing him and we pulled apart.
"Who is this babe?" He asked
"This is mine and Steph's new roommate Tessa," I said
"Hey nice to meet you and I am Noah her boyfriend," Noah says and kisses me again. 
I drag him by the arm and Tessa to meet up with the rest of the crew.
"Hey, guys this my new roommate, Tessa. This is everybody." I said pushing Noah down so I can sit on his lap.
"You've met Hardin. That's Molly" I Said introducing my best friend.
"Hey, cute dress," Molly says.
"Oh yeah, that's Jace, the townie." Said Steph
"What up," says Jace.
"What's your major, Tessa?" Asks zed
"Um, I'm thinking business or maybe economics." Says Tessa
"Very cool," says zed
"You want a drink?" Jace asks her.
"I don't drink," Tessa says
"Come on, we're all drinking, just have a drink. Do it come on." Jace tells her
"Just a small one," I said.
"Oh, my god Victoria where'd you find this girl?" Says molly
"No ones talking to you." Says zed
Tessa takes a drink from the bottle. We all cheer her on.
"You okay," zed asked her.
"Truth or dare," asks Molly.
"What?" Zed asked
"Truth or dare?" Molly says again.
"No no," we all say.
"Come on guys let's play," Molly says.
"Isn't this a kids game?" Asks Tessa
"Not the way we play," Molly says
"Hey, Tessa truth or dare?" Jace asks her.
"Truth," she says.
"Craziest place you've had sex?" Molly asks
"Um pass," Tessa says
"Why? It's an easy one." I said looking at her.
"Wait. Are you a virgin?" Molly asks Tessa everyone looks at her.
"I'll do dare," Tessa says.
"Dare," zed says
"Wait, is she a virgin?" Asks Tristan I look at her and move my shoulders up.
"I dare you to make out with Hardin." Jace dares her.
I looked up at him and he smiled at me.
"She won't do it," Molly says.
Hardin gets up and gets in her face.
"Do you want to do this?" He asked her.
"I'm done playing this game," Tessa says and walks away.
"I like this girl," zed says. 
"Hardin Scott got his first rejection," Molly said we all laughed.

"Hey, guys me and Noah are leaving see y'all later," I said getting up and pulling Noah up we began walking away but Hardin pulled on my arm.

"What do want Hardin?" I said
"Can we talk for a moment?" He says.
"No, I gotta go don't you see I'm with my boyfriend?" I said
"I don't care can we please just talk real quick," Hardin says.
"About what that's all you want to do is talk. You never wanted to talk when we were together so why now." I said walking away from him.

"What was that about?" Noah asked me.
"Nothing just Hardin being Hardin," I said.
"Okay, let's go." He said
We went back to his dorm.

This morning I had a class for English I was sitting in class when I notice Tessa walk in she waves at me.
She took a seat next to Hardin's stepbrother Landon.

"All right folks. Let's get started with Jane Austen's masterpiece. Who in here has already read pride and prejudice?" The teacher asked the class.

I notice Hardin decide to sit next to me.

"And what did you think of it on the first read? Let's hear from our newcomer. Mr. Scott " The teacher asked.
"Pride and prejudice. Elizabeth Bennet needs to chill. She gave Darcy a way worse time than he deserved." Hardin answered
"Are you saying that Darcy was not in love with Elizabeth?" The teacher asked
"Love is just a transaction. We're all hardwired to desire. We present the correct set of desirable traits and boom. We can turn it on and we can turn it off." Hardin says.
"Yes, miss um" Teacher says
"Young Tessa I think that it was the most revolutionary feminist novel that I'd ever read. That a woman of that era would have the strength to reject Darcy when he treated her poorly." Tessa said
"That's a load. It was Darcy's very attitude that attracted Elizabeth to him." Hardin said.
"Darcy's attitude was rude and mocking. I think that he was lucky to be with a woman with as much integrity as Elizabeth." Tessa said
"The only reason he even asked her to marry him was that she wouldn't stop throwing herself at him," Hardin said.
"Throwing herself at him? He was pursuing her." Tessa said.
"She's clearly not satisfied with her life and is looking for excitement whenever she can get it," Hardin said.
I raise my hand
"Yes, miss Rae," the teacher said.
"Well, I think that it's obviously all in his head that she had any feelings for him at all," I said looking at Hardin.
"Well, there you have it. That's the power of a good book." The teacher said and the class was dismissed.

I walked out with Tessa and Hardin was behind us.

"That was exciting," Hardin said
"No it was annoying," Tessa said
"I agree," I said.
"I enjoyed it," Hardin said.
"Look whatever you're thinking, don't," I said
"Nothing happened between us okay? I have a boyfriend. " Said, Tessa
"What the hell you talking about?" I asked
"Us? I thought we were talking about pride and prejudice." Hardin said.
We both walked away.

"What the hell was that about Hardin?" I asked him
"Why do you care we're not together you said"
"I still care about you. So what you like her?" I said
"No, and you know it always you. And if I did like her?" He said.
"I don't care but don't break her heart like mines," I said walking away from him.
