Chapter 44

It has been two weeks since the incident and the boys slowly loosened up. They learned how to smile again with the help of Haerin.

Jeno...He was still the same. He punches the wall every single day without the others knowing. He wouldn't show himself to them when his knuckles are bleeding because he still can't control himself.

He was still angry at himself because of what happened to Hyejin. He likes her but he couldn't do anything for her.

Haerin was the only one who knows what he is doing and she promised not to tell the boys since they would be much more worried.

The door of Hyejin's room opened and a doctor stood there with a slight smile on his face. The others quickly stood up, preparing on what he's about to say.

"Choi Hyej-"

"Yes! We're here!" The boys together with Haerin surrounded the doctor and he immediately backed away; scared of them.

"O-okay...so um...Can you back away a little?"

The boys stayed on their places, not moving an inch and the doctor sighed before saying what he needed to say.

"Choi Hyejin is awa-"

"Really!?"

"How!?"

"I thought it would be more than a month!?"

"My baby's awake!?"

"Okay calm down." The doctor cleared his thoat. "She still needs to be familiarized with her room and she needs a peaceful environment for now so you need to wait for another hour before you come inside."

The doctor quickly walked away after saying that and they all grouped hug each other while yelling making the other people on the hallway glare at them.

"Renjun, set an alarm for one hour. Now!"

The alarm clock on Renjun's cellphone beeped loudly and all of them stood up before glaring at each other.

"I'll go first." Jisung walked upfront.

"No me!"

"I'm her best friend!"

"I'm her favorite cook!"

"The aliens said that I'll go first."

"I'm big head one!"

"Guys...Jeno's here."

They all stopped arguing on who will check on Hyejin first as Jeno suddenly showed up beside them. His face was pale, lips drier than normal and the bags under his eyes turned heavier.

He was exhausted.

"Can I go first?" Jeno whispered.

They boys quickly nodded and backed away while Haerin smiled before patting the boy's back.

Jeno sighed and licked his lips before opening her door. His heart was beating fast as nervousness daunted him. He kept on gulping as the lump on his throat never left.

He wanted to see her.

As he opened the door, the bright-white light immediately invaded his sight making him squint his eyes at the sudden brightness. After adjusting to the light, Jeno slowly walked towards her bed.

"Hyejin..."

Her head was bandaged and her other leg was hanging lowly so that it would be balanced. As the girl heard her name, she slowly turned her head and widened her eyes at the sight of Jeno.

"J-Jeno..." Hyejin smiled.

Jeno smiled back and his breath hitched. His heart was beating so fast as he heard her voice once again. Her smile turned wider as she saw the boy's nervousness.

Jeno looked livelier than ever. He then looked at her wounds and he panicked before looking at the whole room.

"Are you fine? Should I...um...water?"

"I'm fine Jeno." Hyejin chuckled.

"Oh, by the way...where's my boyfriend?" Hyejin pouted.

"W-what?"

"He didn't come to see me when I'm lying here poorly on the bed." She sulked.

"What are you saying?"

"Oh come on Jeno. Don't play games with me...Where is he?"

"Who? What? What boyfriend."

Just then, the door opened revealing the other dream members who had smiles on their faces and Haerin who was crying furiously.

Hyejin beamed and her eyes lit up as soon as the familiar boy entered. She raised her other arm, pointing it to a particular boy.

"Jaemin baby~"
