Death kisses Romeo. After a brief struggle, he dies, falling by Juliet's side. Death retreats. Waits.

The clock tolls eight times. Eight o'clock. Juliet wakes up.

Juliet: Romeo...you came. Oh, thank God. Come, wake up, we have to go or they'll find us. Romeo, wake up. My love. We have to go.

As she shakes Romeo, the vial drops from his hand to the ground. She stares at it for a moment. She turns to Romeo, shaking him again, this time desperate. In denial.

Juliet: Romeo, say something. We must go. Wake up. Wake up. Wake up!

She sobs. Death slowly straightens, like a cobra. She senses another prize.
