TAV 14: Altered Plan

A/N: Hindi ko na nilalagay 'yong mga kaganapan sa birthday ni Sofia kasi may chapter na para do'n. Pwede niyo naman hulaan kung para saan 'yon, kasi trip talaga ni Teirro manbuwisit (Si Teirro pa talaga may kasalanan hahahaha).

CHAPTER FOURTEEN : Altered Plan

When Sofia's third birthday arrived, the venue was set in my pavilion. Katulad ng pangalawang kaarawan nito, kami-kami lang ang nag-celebrate at hinayaan ko si Teirro na kunan ang buong kaganapan. He insisted on doing it and I find that creepy.

Sofia can now turn her body and can balance herself sitting using her butt. Gumagapang siya minsan subalit hindi maganda sa balat niya ang magpadausdos kaya palagi kong pinapaiwasan. There could be moments where she crawled her way at certain corners, and it doesn't really last long.

Aside from that event, I readed my attire for the wedding. The invitation card says to wear something that has the color of gold, and I need to abide with that concept to avoid being targeted by gossipers and rumormongers.

Since I will be bringing Sofia, I will also make some outfits for her. I planned our departure in two months from now on. We have to arrive a month prior to the wedding day because according to the letter sent by the Queen, she wanted to talk to me.

Kinakabahan ako kung ano ang dahilan ng kanyang alok. The old Clarinette met the Queen once and I think she made a good impression which results in my dilemma now. I don't really want to go but a part of me wants to.

Parang ramdam ko na doon ako makakahanap ng sagot sa mga tanong ko. I don't have my answers here since Clarinette wasn't from Dior, she was born and raised in Huin. Sa pagbabalik ko, sana magkaroon ng sagot sa mga tanong na bumabagabag sa akin.

"What?!"

My voice echoed in the whole living room. Nagulat pa si Sofia na karga-karga ko dahil sa sigaw na nailabas ko pagkatapos sabihin ni Teirro ang pakay niya.

He only gave me a meaningful look which resulted in my eyebrows being raised. Binigay ko kay Alina si Sofia at lumapit sa mayordomo ng bahay.

"You know what, nitong mga nakaraang buwan talaga tagilid na tayo, Teirro. Marami ka ng tinatago sa akin— bakit? Hindi ba pinag-usapan na natin 'to dati: na kapag may problema, dapat alam ko agad-agad?"

"Hindi naman po ito problema, madame..." ginawaran niya ako ng tingin bago siya yumuko "...sa katunayan, magandang ideya ito dahil kinakapos ho tayo ng kawal."

"Alin ang maganda dito? You asked for that Knight Commander to accompany us to Huin...without my permission. Why do we need it?"

I tried myself to stay calm despite the twirling anger cooking inside me. Matamaan ko siyang tiningnan sa mata para ipahiwatig na hindi ko gusto ang ginawa niyang hindi pag-paalam sa akin. I don't even understand why Teirro is over controlling these months.

"Did my husband order it?" I asked.

Yumuko pa layo si Teirro. "Yes, your grace. He trusts Lord Valan to escort you and the young lady. I was just following orders from the Duke."

I let out a sigh. Damn, I never knew my own silliness would corrupt me someday and that day is finally here. Hindi ko na alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko. I am pretty sure Teirro already contacted the Knight Commander before he turned himself in.

Gusto ko siyang sabunutan ng malala pero ikinukom ko na lamang ang aking mga kamao at tumaob ang aking kuko sa palad ko.

Hindi na ako bumalik sa sentro simula ng araw na 'yon kaya hindi ko na din nakikita si Valan. Wala na akong balak magkaroon ng ugnayan sa lalaking 'yon dahil dinudurog ang puso ko tuwing magkasama kami. Ayoko paasahin 'yong tao kaya maigi ng umalis.
