A Doubtful Heart

Nuer nodded his head letting Syn's hand let go of his. He was about to answer that he would never stop loving him when a noise made him turned his head.

'' Talk to me about what? '' Asked New.

Nuer and Syn turned their head to where the sound was coming from.
New was standing there, in their place, his hands in his sweater pockets. At this moment he didn't seem like a person ready to confront nor fight Syn or Nuer, but more like someone ashamed, ready to have a talk with them.

'' New. '' said Nuer acknowledging his presence '' Why are you here? ''

'' I came to apologize to Syn, but it seems like you have something to tell me? ''

Syn stepped back a little, feeling like he wasn't supposed to be there, even though the apologizes would be for him.

'' Don't leave Syn... Please. '' asked Nuer as he noticed the movement of his beloved.

Syn looked slowly between Nuer who seemed to want him here, and New who seemed to hate him.

'' I have to apologize to you Syn, so you actually do have to stay. '' concluded New.

'' You don't seem like you want to. '' said Syn.

'' I don't. But I cannot allow myself to lose my closest friend for someone like you. So I'd rather have a talk with you than just leave things this way. ''

'' What closest friend? '' said Nuer bitterly, upset by the way New was talking about and to Syn.

New looked at Nuer , hurt. He couldn't help but think that everything that was happening was Syn's fault. He turned to the one who made him lose his friend and started his apologies.

'' Syn. I am sorry. I shouldn't have be the one saying everything about the bet before Nuer. ''

'' You have nothing to apologize for. '' answered Syn making New, changing his expression to a dumbfounded one.

'' You aren't guilty of telling me the truth. But you are the one who made the bet to hurt my friend with Nuer, and also the one who acted this way not because of goods intentions but because we love the same person. I cannot make you feel guilty about loving someone, but you are responsible for hurting the one you said you had feelings for. ''

'' you told him? '' asked New to Nuer, referring to the fact that he loved him.

Nuer didn't have the chance to answer that Syn concluded :

'' you don't owe me any apologies, you owe Kuea some and Nuer. Now that It is said, I am going to leave. ''

And he did.
Nuer and New looked at each other. If New was really surprised, Nuer kind of felt that he was even more in love with Syn than ever. Even in those kind of situations, his beloved would be the one knowing what was right and wrong.

'' I really don't understand why you love him. ''

'' Maybe because, not as someone I know, he would never hurt me. ''

'' But you did. ''

'' And I hate myself for That. ''

A silence took place while they both looked at each other.

'' I didn't realize you loved him that much. ''

'' I do. ''

'' I wanted you to be back to me. ''

'' I never left you until you broke my heart by deciding for me to tell Syn. ''

Another silence took place where New thought about Nuer's last sentence. Indeed Nuer had always been close to him.

'' But since you fell in love with him, you became more distant from me than before. We used to hang out so often and create our own world. I... I never actually thought that you never even considered me as someone you could fell in love with. I thought my feelings weren't one side. ''

'' I. I'm sorry, I never realized you had feelings for me. ''

'' I am sorry, I broke your heart, and did... What I did. Can you forgive me. ''

'' I... I don't know. As long as I don't know if Syn will, I cannot actually consider you not part of the cause of my situation. ''

They looked at each other. Both knew that there relationship would never be the same again.

'' Rain told you to come? ''

New nodded

'' Yes. He wanted us to be a group again. ''

'' I don't think, it will be the same as before ''

''I know... Maybe we can still make things differently though.' '

Nuer nodded his head not knowing what to do or say.

' 'You should join Syn...' '

' 'hm?' '

New smiled with a certain sadness and answered :

' 'he has been waiting for you in front of your uni entrance.' '

Nuer turned his head to see a Syn sitting on the university entrance' s stairs. He couldn't help but smile.

'' I think he will forgive you. ''

Nuer nodded, not so confident about it.

'' I should go then... We. We'll see each other some other time. ''

New nodded then left as Nuer was already walking to Syn.

Syn stood up at the moment he saw Nuer and smiled happily.

'' You'll forgive him, for sure. ''

'' As you will forgive me? ''

Syn stayed silent at this moment. Up from his step's stair, he leaned to Nuer before whispering to his ears with a shy voice:

'' It seems like if I don't forgive you, too many people will want to steal you from me.''

He then smiled, a cute blush decorating his cheeks. Nuer laughed tenderly at those words.

'' No one can steal a heart that's already yours. ''

They look at each other tenderly before New add :

'' so... You forgive me? ''

'' It's still hard for me to do so, but I realized that the only way to forgive you might not be keeping you away from me. ''

'' so... ''

'' So I am doing everything to forgive you but it seems like I am way too in love with you. ''

Nuer laughed a little. He felt that Syn being away from him almost made him bold. He never had imagined that Syn would be possessif to him.

'' You are bolder than usual. ''

'' because I cannot afford to lose you again. It's way too hurtful. ''

He then leaned again and put a light kiss on Nuer's lips.
