" Look! It's Aslan over there! "

THE REST OF THE "TRIP" WAS SILENT. Peter rowed them until they hit another beach, and they anchored the small boat. Trumpkin got off first, with the rope in hand and looking for a rock to wrap it around.

Lucy grabbed Olivia's hand, and they started looking at the woods, while the rest pushed the boat on shore. Olivia and Lucy found a bear, who was eating something off the ground.

" Hello there! " - Lucy said, happy to be greeting another Narnian. Susan, Peter and Edmund got distracted and looked at the direction of the two girls. The bear grunted and got on two paws instead of all fours.

" It's all right, we're friends! " - Smiled Olivia.

The bear got back to all fours, still grunting lowly. Trumpkin saw the scene and widened his eyes, before quickly taking control.

" Don't move your majesties! " - He said, calmly but firmly. He rushed to the boat. Lucy and Olivia looked back at Trumpkin, and the bear started to charge at them.

When they looked back, the bear was already close, and started running away.

" Stay away from them! " - Exclaimed Sue, with her arrow positioned on her bow. Edmund and Peter quickly grabbed their swords from the wooden boat, but Lucy and Olivia tripped.

Olivia wrapped her arms around Lucy, using her body as a shield for the young girl. Lia grabbed the dagger on her boot, and was ready to defend herself.

" Shoot, Susan, shoot! " - Screamed Edmund, agonised. Lucy started screaming, and Olivia felt a single tear escape her eye, because she didn't have the courage to kill an animal. She clutched the dagger against her chest as she protected Lucy, and the bear had his mouth close, but an arrow came and shot it in the chest.

The animal fell to the floor with a 'thud', but the arrow didn't come from Susan's bow, and yes from Trumpkin's. Olivia looked absolutely defeated, and she threw the dagger on the ground.

Edmund and Peter ran in the direction of the two girls, while Peter grabbed Lucy and clutched her to his chest, holding out his sword, Edmund gently grabbed Olivia, and embraced her with both his arms, his sword on the ground.

The girl wrapped her arms around his neck, and looked back at the dead bear, and started sobbing. Edmund clutched his hand around her waist, and she placed her face on his shoulder. One hand on her waist and the other gently caressing her hair.

" Thanks. " - Said Lucy to the dwarf.

" He was wild. " - Stated Edmund. - " I don't think he could talk at all. " - Concluded Peter.

" Get treated like a dumb animal long enough, that's what you become. You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember. "

—-🗺️—-

" I don't remember this way. " - Perked Susan.

The group of six was trying to find their way to the Narnians near the stone table, but they seemed to have difficulties finding their path. Peter was leading the way, sure of his path.

" That's the problem with girls. You can't carry a map in your heads. " - Grinned Peter, jokingly.

" That's because our heads have something in them. " - Retorted Lucy, making the other two girls smirk.

" I wish he would just listen to the D.L.F in the first place. " - Said Susan when Peter was out of ears reach.

" D.L.F? " - Asked Edmund, confused.

" Dear little friend. " - Responded Olivia, stopping in her tracks to see Trumpkin's reaction.

" Oh, that is not at all patronising, is it? " - Asked the dwarf, where Edmund and Olivia stood watching him, as the others kept their walk. The three then went back to following the rest, a little bit behind.

Peter reached a dead end, a rocky wall. - " I'm not lost " - He mumbled to himself, but the others heard him.

" No. you're just going the wrong way. " - Said Trumpkin, jumping from the rock he stood on.

" You last saw Caspian at the shuddering woods, and the quickest way there is to cross at the river rush. " - said Peter.

Olivia smirked at him. It had been so many years, the geography of Narnia might have changed a lot. It was best to trust Trumpkin, but the girl decided to stay quiet and just laugh.

" But unless I'm mistaken, there's no crossing in these parts. " - responded the dwarf.

" That explains it then. You're mistaken. " - Peter snarled, making Susan and Olivia look at him sternly.

They advanced more into the woods, without a single word said during the path. The sun was shining bright, and it blinded Olivia a little bit, and she occasionally had to place her hand in front of her eyes in order to shield them.

They finally arrived at the river rush, but, unfortunately, Trumpkin was correct. There was no crossing in that part. The kids got to the edge, and looked down, where they could see the gleam of water down below.

" You see, over time, water erodes the earth's soil, carving deeper- " - Started Susan.

" Oh, shut up. " - Peter signed, seeing his two sisters next to him. Olivia, Edmund and Trumpkin didn't get near the edge.

" Is there a way down? " - Asked Edmund.

" Yeah, falling. " - Answered Trumpkin.

" Well, we weren't lost. " - The eldest defended himself.

" There's a Ford near Beruna. How do you feel about swimming? "

" I'd rather that than walking. " - Susan said, and when the group started to go and follow the dwarf, Lucy asked out loud:

" Aslan? It's Aslan! It's Aslan over there! " - She turned excitedly to her siblings. Olivia rushed to the edge, but didn't see the lion. - " Don't you see? He's right... there. "

" Do you see him now? " - Asked Trumpkin, and Olivia couldn't quite tell if he was being sarcastic or not.

" I'm not crazy. He was there. He wanted us to follow him. " - Susan raised an eyebrow at her older brother, while Edmund and Olivia shared a look. They both agreed that it was unlikely Lucy was lying, and they believed her.

" I'm sure there are any number of lions in this wood. Just like that bear. " - Said Peter.

" I think she would know Aslan when she saw him. " - Olivia stepped up in defence of the youngest.

" Look, I'm not about to jump off a cliff after someone who doesn't exist. " - Said Trumpkin.

" The last time I didn't believe Lucy I ended up looking pretty stupid. " - Answered Edmund sincerely. The small action made Lia walk to his side and hold his hand, proud of the boy. He looked and gaped, before smiling and intertwined their fingers.

She remembered when Edmund opened up to her about his situation before the witch. His feelings, his emotions, his actions. The witch scarred him for life, but he became the most kind person after that, and Olivia was so proud of him for taking such a huge step.

" Why wouldn't I have seen him? " - Asked Peter, and Lucy smiled.

" Maybe you weren't looking. "

Peter shaked his head. - " I'm sorry Lu. " - and the two eldest siblings and the dwarf went back to leading the way of the journey, and leaving behind the three youngest for a little moment.

Lucy looked back at the river, and where she saw Aslan, and turned back to Edmund and Olivia. Ed squeezed Lia's hand, and they both nodded for Lucy to come.
