Logan's POV-
Since we got engaged, Rory and I had made it a tradition to go ice skating at Rockefeller center on the night before Christmas Eve. I still spent more time on my ass than on my feet. "You still suck at this" Rory laughed as she helped me up after I fell for probably the tenth time
"Thanks for the encouragement, Ace"
"I don't know why you keep insisting that we do this every year"
"Because it's a tradition. And soon enough we'll get to include our kid in that tradition and it'll be amazing"
"Yeah, except my kid is gonna be better at ice skating than you" Rory said
"God, I hope so"
Later that night, we were walking home. I had my arm around Rory and her head was on my shoulder. "Goals for 2014?"
"Are you asking me?" I asked
"Mhmm" she nodded
"To have a baby. That's pretty high on the list. Um...I wanna buy that little newspaper in Maine that I was telling you about, and other than that I don't really know. How about you?"
"To hopefully have a baby, or at least be pregnant within the next year. To possibly become a managing editor, that would be cool. And I wanna write a book"
"A book?" This was the first time I'd ever heard her say anything about writing a book. I definitely thought that she could do it, I just didn't realize that she wanted to.
"Yeah. I've always wanted to, I just never did. I decided that next year I'm gonna do it. Or at least start"
"You're full of surprises, you know that?"
Rory's POV-
On Christmas Day, Logan and I walked into my mom's and Luke's house and we were immediately hit within the smell of Christmas trees. "How many?" I asked
"11" mom said giddily
I could see 2 in the living room, but I had no idea where she put the rest of them. "Where?" I asked
"2 in here. One in our room. One in your old room. 3 baby sized ones in the kitchen. A little ones in both of the bathrooms. The one in the entryway. And one on the porch" mom told me
"You're crazy" I laughed
"Doesn't it smell amazing?" April asked
"It definitely smells like Christmas" Logan said
"How was ice skating?" Luke asked
"It was great" I said
"I still suck" Logan said
"I'm sure that's not true" April said
"It is" I chuckled "but it's still fun"
"Did I tell you that Kirk and Lulu got a pig?" Mom asked
"No, you di- a pig?"
"Patty and Babette overheard them talking about having a baby" mom told me "The town didn't think it was a great idea so we all chipped in to get them a pig. Figured it would buy us at least a couple of years"
After not living here for 10 years, you start to realize just how weird this place is.
"This town is way too interested in other people's plans to reproduce" April said
"Have you met Kirk?" Luke asked "we do not need another one of him"
"How old is Kirk?" Logan asked
"He doesn't age like normal people" Luke said "he's like some kind of weird alien creature"
