It was one of those rare days in Forks. A day when the sky was... mostly clear and the roads where completely dry. On days like this, Sabrina Swan loved to break out her old bicycle and bike all the way down to LaPush where she, Jacob and their two friends, Quil and Embry, would spend their day on the beach. Sure the bicycle was slightly rusted and definitely gathering cobwebs but it was the best way to enjoy the cool, yet mostly sunny, weather that was so rarely presented to the residents of the small town.

Sabrina biked down the roads with a smile on her face, waving to all the many familiar faces she'd pass by and so passionately mouthing the words to whatever song was playing on repeat through her headphones. It was usually The Power Of Love by Huey Lewis. That was her favourite. Benny always thought it was kinda tacky but Sabrina loved it and never missed the opportunity to annoy the crap out of him by blasting it non-stop. After the amount of times she'd played the song, her family members simply could not understand how Sabrina never got sick of it.

Today, the girl and her friends had decided to meet at the beach. A decision that brought great relief to Sabrina's leg muscles. Yeah, the journey, by bike, from Forks to LaPush beach wasn't exactly short. But Sabrina would gladly even walk the whole way if it meant she could see her friends. She loved her friends and simply couldn't understand why the Cullens — who were like her family — just didn't seem to approve. Seriously, every time she came back from the reservation, Alice and the others would always scrunch up their noses and order her to take a shower. To Sabrina, it seemed like the Cullens' distaste towards the people that lived on the other side of the treaty line was getting a little out of hand.

But nevertheless, she'd made it quite clear that nothing would stop her from going to see her friends. Hence, why she now sat on the sand, sketching away as she watched the boys goofing around in the water.

Every immaculate detail on the page of her sketchbook was a mirror image of the scene before her. Everything was so beautifully captured, from the shimmer of sunlight on the ocean's surface, to the brightness of Jacob's smile, the curl of Quil's hair and the definition of Embry's cheekbones.

The trio of boys were the picture of normalcy that Sabrina had so desperately craved all her life. They brought with them the blissful feeling of being young and wild and free of all responsibilities and other burdens of this world.

A feeling that Sabrina had spent her entire life searching for.

That day, there were no troubled psychics, no bitter sarcastic ghosts, no homicidal vampires... just three teenagers soaking in the rare rays of sunlight and appreciating the land they lived on for all its breathtaking wonders.
