Bella Swan was probably the most stubborn human that Sabrina had ever met. Of course, that wasn't always necessarily a bad thing but it was tricky for the others around her because when she wanted something, and I mean really wanted something regardless of how dangerous it could be, she would stop at nothing until she achieved her goal.
"You did what?" Sabrina cried as Bella relayed to her the events of the previous night.
While Sabrina had spent the night on the reservation with her friends, Bella had apparently gone shopping... for motorcycles.
Bella sighed.
"Never mind," Bella dismissed agitatedly fiddling with the keys in her hand, "Are you two coming or not?"
Bella looked to Sabrina expectantly, her eyes throwing out a silent plea. Bella wasn't going to force her but the truth was that the girl didn't want to do anything without her cousin. Sabrina was her rock, her only proof that she wasn't crazy, that she hadn't simply imagined everything she'd been through; her only proof that he'd been real and the only reason she hadn't completely lost her grip on reality and plunged into the depths of insanity.
Sabrina looked to her brother for help but the boy just shrugged.
"I hate this but we know she's gonna do it anyway. Might as well make sure she stays safe in the process."
He had a point.
Sabrina caved.
"This is a bad idea," she sighed.
"Is that a yes?" Bella asked, a tiny excited smile tugging at her lips. It was the first semi-genuine smile Bella had produced in months.
Sabrina rolled her eyes.
"Don't patronise me, Isabella," she sassed, however unable to hide her own satisfaction due to the smile on her cousin's face.
"I'm taking that as a yes."
And that's how Sabrina — and consequently Benny — was roped into becoming Bella's accomplice in her quest to produce another hallucination of her ex-boyfriend.
So, in summary, the events leading up to that of Bella pulling up outside Jacob's house are as follows:
Bella goes out with Sabrina and Jessica to prove to Charlie that she has friends. Bella sees motorcycle gang that reminds her of the guys that almost assaulted her last year. Naturally, Bella gets on the back of some buffoon's bikes. Bella sees hallucination of Edward telling her to stop being reckless. As a result, Bella concludes that she must be reckless and hence ride a motorcycle again in order to see Edward. So, Bella steals two bikes from the junkyard that are so broken and useless that they barely even qualify as motorcycles.
