"I told Dr Reid he could use my office. There must be 30 books piled up on my desk." The sergeant said as he walked into the room we had taken up residence in. JJ, Derek and I were going over the crime scene photos and the victimology.

"Well, that's either some light bedtime reading, or he's actually onto something." JJ mused

"You know, I was thinking about that branding thing. Maybe it's like that book we had to read in school, about the woman with the scarlet A." The sergeant said

"No, that's unlikely. The scarlet letter was a badge of shame to be worn in public day after day. Our UnSub is killing his victims immediately after the branding." Derek said

"There's something strange going on here." JJ said as she looked over a file

"Well, that may be the understatement of the week." The sergeant said

"Gloria's vision was extremely poor. Her drivers license specifies she had to wear corrective lenses while operating a vehicle." JJ said

"Eyeglasses." The sergeant asked

"It says here she wore contact lenses." JJ said

"No contact lenses were found on her body or at the crime scene." Derek said

"The UnSub must have taken them out, like he removes her nail polish." JJ said as she reached over to pick up a picture of the victim

"But why would he do that?" The sergeant asked

"No wristwatch was found at the crime scene either." Derek said

"Nail polish, wristwatch, contact lenses. It sounds like he was trying to strip her of items that reminded him of the modern world." I said from beside JJ

"It could be a part of his delusion. Like changing her into a simple robe. He needed to take Gloria back to a primitive time before he could kill her." Derek said.

I casually made my way across the police precinct with a cup of coffee in my hand. I had remembered Spencer's order accidentally after we had gotten coffee together at a food truck once during a case.

I approached the sergeants office and gently knocked on the door as I pushed it open, alerting the doctor to my presence. Spencer was sitting cross legged on the floor surrounded by books. He had practically made himself a nest.

"Hey, sorry for interrupting." I said sheepishly as I placed the coffee beside him. "Thought you'd want this."

"Oh, thank you." Spencer said, looking up from his book to shoot me a smile. He picked up the to-go cup and took a sip. He glanced back up at me with a gratefulness in his eyes. "You remembered."

"Yeah, I have a good memory. Not as good as yours, but it does the job." I said with a small laugh. I then slowly started to leave the office. "I'll leave you to it."

Before I could exit the office, Spencer spoke up again. "There are things that I don't know."

"Hmm?" I questioned him

"You asked me if there's anything I don't know, there is. I'm terrible with pop culture references." Spencer admitted. I smiled in response.

"Ah, I can help you with that. Pop culture is one of my specialties." I said with a laugh

"That's good. Maybe you can explain what Twilight is on the way home." Spencer said with a laugh

"That I can do." I said with a nod and a smile before I turned and walked out of the office, leaving him to his reading.
