I sat down at the round table with a quiet sigh. One of the more inconvenient parts of this job was being called in at any time of the day when an important case came in. No time was safe, morning, day and night there was a possibility of being called back into work. Even in the middle of a make out session with your new, albeit secret, boyfriend.

"Hi. Good evening. Okay. University of Montana student Douglas Clark was found this afternoon next to his car, stabbed at least a dozen times, and the killer left a calling card." Penelope said. An image of the crime scene came up on the screen, showing a young man with a mobile phone wedged into his mouth.

That's a distinctive signature. Have there been similar murders reported in the area?" Derek asked

"Thankfully, no." Penelope said

"So then why are we being called in?" Kate asked

"Last month a local shopkeeper was killed in a hit and run. The driver was a student who's very rich and well connected. Daddy got him off with a slap on the wrist." Penelope said

"Which I imagine didn't sit well with the locals." Rossi said

"Oh, you could say that. A random fraternity was firebombed in retaliation." Penelope said

"And there's concerns that the murder might escalate the friction between the student community and the permanent residents." Hotch said

"Town versus gown. It happens." JJ said

"All the way back to the battle of Saint Scholastica Day." Spencer said, I looked over at him when he didn't elaborate to see him nodding to himself with a smile on his face.

"Okay, I'll take the bait. What is the…whatever it is that you just said?" Kate asked him

"The battle of Saint Scholastica Day? I'm glad you asked. Oxford University, 1335, citizens attacked students and professors with bows and arrows. Fighting went on for two days and nearly 100 people were killed." Spencer explained

"You know, it's probably just my easy going nature, but if I stabbed someone a dozen times, It'd pretty much be out of my system. Why smash a car window?" Rossi asked

"Well, a car killed the shopkeeper. Maybe it's a message." JJ suggested

"Or just plan anger, and a lot of it." Kate said

"Whatever the reason, we have to assume there's more where that came from. Wheels up in 30." Hotch said

While we were on the plane, a new body was found and gay pornogrophy was amongst the first victims belongings. This led us to the possibility that it was a hate crime. Rossi, Spence and I were sent to the crime scene when we landed.

I stifled a yawn as I stepped out of the car into the chill night air. It was almost morning, and I hadn't slept at all.

"Five-thirty in the morning, east coast time. You don't seem tired at all." Spencer said to Rossi

"What can I tell you? I'm a night person." Rossi shrugged

"There is a difference between a night person and nocturnal, Rossi." I stated

"Ha. I'm not a bat or something." Rossi said

"You sure? You could well be a vampire." I mused

"Oh really? I like the sun, and garlic." Rossi defended himself with a laugh

"Vampire lore changes from one story to another." I mused

"Speaking of that, you might want to consider revamping your circadian clock to a more traditional chronotype." Spencer added
