Kunal's POV

Surprise would be an understatement to what I'm feeling right now. And that's not because of someone else, it's because of me, because of the extent of my feelings.

I had no clue I could feel so happy for any reason but now that I'm seeing my little man playing on the chair, I know there are things that can make me giddy. I didn't even know much I missed him until I saw him sitting on the chair with puzzles before him, and my heart skipped a beat.

“ Hey little man, I didn't know you were coming today. I would've worn a different shirt had I known. ” I said to him and I kneeled before him, I don't think he understood what I meant but he clearly got the message I was conveying because the next second I heard him say.

“ kumaal.. heehe. ”
A gasp sounded beside me and I knew it was her, even I was astounded. I hoped he'd remember me but him remembering not only me but also my name is a big deal. And while he pronounced it wrong, I can teach him the correct way. He's gonna have to tell it in his school after all.

“ It's Kunal buddy. But kumaal would do as well. ” I hooked his nose and he giggled.

“ I'm sorry Mr. Rajvansh. ” I heard her speak as I took my seat across him.

“ For what? ” I asked, trying to keep the bite from my voice which I felt from her distance. I think I'll have to resort to torture if I want her to call me by my name. A different type of torture though if I have my way but a torture nonetheless.

“ He called you by your name… I'm sure it was disrespectful, I apologise fo—” She started and I interrupted her because I really didn't want to hear what she would after aadi just made it the best morning I've had in a while, “ At least one of you is good at listening. ”

“ Huh? ”
“ Yeah, I mean. I asked his mother to call me by my name but she seemed to have ignored it, so I'm glad he's doing it in his stead because if it was up to his mother, he'll be saying Mr. Rajvansh as well. ”

Her mouth parted in surprise and I wondered if I overdid it. But then a ghost of a smile touched her lips and I knew it wasn't an illusion. The ease I felt yesterday wasn't a dream I'd woven, it had happened.

“ I'm glad you don't mind it. ” She smiled, not a full blown one but it was there, as if she was relieved I wasn't offended by aadi saying my name. Wrong one.

Only an idiot would be offended by a toddler mispronouncing their name, more so such a cute one. I'm on cloud nine just from the idea that he remembers me, who gives a fuck if he says my name wrong.

“ I mind Mr. Rajvansh more. Will you change it? ” I questioned and she remained silent, at least she looked at me rather than turning to the side, but no words left her.
I knew my answer, “ That's what I thought. ”

“ Let's get to work then. ”
“ Sure. ”

We worked more like she and Ashish worked while I got distracted with more than just Aadi's mother.
As if she herself wasn't enough to distract me, adding aadi to the mix does it completely. If it were old times I'd be an infamous ruler who can't work because of how infatuated he is.
