Kunal's POV

I'm late and it's all because of the moron beside me who decided that he was invited as well. And that's not just it, in mahapurush ko kapde nahi mil rahe rhe 2 ghante se. Lack of clothes according to him.

[ Translation: This great sage couldn't find anything to wear for two hours. ]

Lack of clothes, my foot. He's brought twice the amount of luggage I did and he still has the audacity to claim he has nothing to wear. He's got all of mom's genes in this regard. She too has nothing to wear especially when we need to hurry.

I was hoping to reach the venue sooner but as my luck would have it, I'm terribly late.

I was on my way out when my brother decided he wasn't having fun in his room. If it was up to me I wouldn't have told him where I was going but being the snoop he was, he had seen the invitation and connected the dots. He's fuckin’ smart when he wants to be.

I had to wait for him to get ready because it wouldn't have been appropriate to arrive separately, which he promised he would if I didn't wait for him. Had I known he'd waste so much time, I would've locked him in his room before leaving.

So here I am, arriving more than two hours later than the stipulated time even though I was damn too near the venue.

But it's not like anyone would notice, the only people who know me there are the Agnihotris and they would be busy with the ceremony. I don't think they'd have time to worry about a business associate.

And they don't even matter, the only person who does wouldn't have thought of me at all. I'm sure of that. And it's not only because she might be busy but because she genuinely could care less about me.

I used to be the one caring less and trust me when I say that being on the receiving side of it sucks.

I parked the car and Kartik sprang out of it too soon, as if he knew he'd be dead if he wasted any more time. By some miracle he had the sense to take the gifts before running off inside.

The temple looked magnificent, I don't even know which deity they worshipped and from the looks of it they were done worshipping.

As I had expected, the haircut was done, the guests were mingling between themselves and the people I came for were nowhere in sight.

I stood aside in a corner observing them, only seeing two familiar faces, Aditi and the guy I had seen leaving her cabin that day. He was with two elders whom I assumed to be their parents, if I'm not wrong.
