"Emmy did you call Alison yet" My mom yells from the kitchen
"No Mom, Ill do it later"
"Do it now before our dinner gets cold!"
"Fine" I mumble under my breath as I start dialing Alisons' number
A- Hello?
E- Hey Ali its Emily
A- what made you decide to call me?
E- Could you come over for dinner?
A- Like on a date?
I could tell she was smiling
E- No my mom wants to have dinner with the both of us
A- Oh
I could sense the disappointment in her voice
A- Yeah okay sure, do you want me to come over now?
E- Yeah that would be great actually
A- Okay once I change ill be on my way
E- Okay bye, I love--
I paused
E- You'll love my moms' Cooking
I continued
A- Im sure i will, well bye
I hung up and touched my temple. What am i doing?

15 Minutes lAter
I was surfing through instagram then suddenly the door bell rings. As I start walking down stairs i see my mother fixing up her dress
"Emily! Why are you dressed like that!" She yelled at me
I Was wearing a white crop top with a smiley face and gray joggers.
"What are you wearing?" I asked my mom. She was wearing A purple sequined dress.
"Mom she's my best friend not Michelle Obama" I Walked towards the door and put my hair up on a bun and quickly opened the door. There she was, She was wearing her glasses and her hair up on a pony tail with black and white overalls. It was simple but she still made it work.
"Come in Alison, come in" My mom says and Alison enters the house with a smile.
"If you dont like the food just act like its good" I whispered to Alison and she lets out a chuckle.
(Alison's POV)
"Why dont you guys have a sit while I serve the meals" Mrs. Fields tells us
"Thanks you Mrs. Fields"
"Please, call me Pam" She flashed me a smile and I quickly returned it. She quickly left to go on the kitchen leaving me and Emily.
"So why did you invite me for dinner again?"
"My mom wanted to, i dont know she said it out of the blue" She shrugged and I nodded. Pam comes in with 4 different meals.
"Woah mom when did you have time to cook this?" Emily asks
"When you were up in your room listening to Air Supply on loop" She spat
"MOM!" She yelled while I laughed
