Chapter 30

"What's the fist thing you'll do when freed?" Terrance asked openly as the sea came in view up ahead

"Find Marcus" Ava said

Terrance nodded making a sarcastically thoughtful face, "of course"

"I'll fight in the war" Avani said

"Yeah, okay" Terrance said, "like your father will allow that, he'd lock you in a prison first"

Avani nodded, "probably, so my first moment of freedom will probably be spent under dreadful supervision"

"Unlike you, I'll actual spend mine fighting in the war." Jed said in his deep growlsome voice

Terrance smiled, "yes you will"

They stepped out of the green land and onto the sand where all their faces went solemn at the sight of the witch standing behind a beaten Marcus, face bleeding, laying in the sand, barley able to support his head, at the water's edge.

Ava narrowed her eyes and stepped forward, in front of the group, "what the hell are you doing." She growled

"Oh, I'm sorry, was this your love or my fiancé?" Nadia asked sarcastically

"Let him go!" Ava said

"Sorry love, but he's my leverage, I can't."

"Then I'll make you"

"Tisk tisk tisk, I wouldn't I was you, you see, I know the gators have you a vessel to provide immortality, and I'll trade it for his life."

"Never. You wouldn't," she said taking a step forward

Nadia rolled her eyes before putting her foot on the back of his head and pushed it under the water. He began splashing and fighting his best to get his head above the water

"Stop!" Ava screamed, tears rolling down her face

"I'll lift my foot when it's in my hand." She said effortlessly holding her hand out

Ava hesitated before tearing the necklace off and running over to the witch.

As Ava handed Nadia the necklace, Marcus stopped struggling

The witch moved away from Marcus but he didn't move.. Just floated face down in the water

"No.. No, no!" Ava screamed as she dragged him out of the ocean, sitting down and resting his head on her lap, she stroked his cheek lightly as her eyes erupted with tears, "come back to me my love"

"Seems like if you hadn't hesitated he'd still be alive." Nadia said smiling sadistically, "well, here goes nothing." She said before drinking a bit of sea water from it.

The glass glowed and Nadia's grin deepened

"I feel it working!" She screeched in delight

Where her heart was started glowing, a soft pale blue, then suddenly the color the vessel and her chest were glowing turned a deep violet

The witch dropped the vessel then fell to her knees grasping her chest, caught get violently

They watched her struggle and struggle for a few seconds before she fell to the ground, gasped, and her eyes glazed over.

They stared for a while in silence at the dead Nadia a few minutes before Ava stretched out to get the vessel while still holding Marcus.

"I know I just witnessed this kill her but if you can't live I don't want to either." She whispered to him.

She filled it with water before pouring a  few drops into his mouth and the rest in his.

Just like before, the vessel began glowing blue and so did their hearts.

A few moments after the glowing didn't change, a million small blue dots of light began circling above the water

A small, Royal looking fairie flew up to Ava

"Dry your eyes, the way that vessel makes you immortal is Avalon. When you drink from it, it summons us, the she. But only those pure at heart can enter, that is why the witch was killed. Come with us and you'll live forever with Marcus."

Ava was stunned speechless. She thought the fairies were beautiful but the she took it to a whole new level.

All she could do was nod

The she surrounded her and Marcus how they were sitting. Terrance, Avani, and Jed watched as they disappeared with the she in front of their eyes.
