REVENGE (Rewriting)

Ben?

I come home from solo and ensemble and collapse on the couch in exhaustion.

"How was your music thing?" Jay asks.

"Fine..." I close my eyes and massage my temples to try to prevent the migraine I feel coming on.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing," I walk away to find some Advil.

"I got your note..."

"Okay...did you clean up?"

"I may have..."

"Thanks Jay, I really needed that."

      Of course when Jay goes back to work on his laptop. I check security camera footage and motion sensors to see what he's been up to, along with scanning for bugs. Plus I listen through the audio from the bugs planted inside his room. There were two reasons he's staying in the guest bedroom and not in either of my brothers' bedrooms. One: he doesn't deserve to sleep in the same room as one of my brothers; and two: I don't completely trust him. Yeah he saved my life, but this could all be a trap. I'm not letting my guard down...I'm not making that mistake twice. Nothing out of the ordinary, everything seems fine...for now.

      Changing back into my pajamas, I sit down to study but I'm interrupted by my phone buzzing--Ben texted me.

Excited for tomorrow night?

Me:
Of course, any details I should know of?

Ben:
Just to dress nice and I'll pick you up at 6

Me:
Sounds good
So how's your day been?

Ben:
Pretty good, I was pretty busy

Me:
Oh really?

Ben:
Yeah, so how was your day?

Me:
Good, stressful, but good

Ben:
Aw babe what's wrong?

Me:
Babe?

Ben:
What's wrong with that?

Me:
Nothing

Ben:
So, what's wrong?

Me:
Solo and ensemble

Ben:
How did you do?

Me:
I got a 1 on both my solos and quartet

Ben:
Uhh...

Me:
1 is the best rating

Ben:
So what's wrong? Did you miss me?

Me:
I did miss you, but it was just...nerve wracking

Ben:
I'm sure you were fine, were your parents there?

Me:
No, they're on a business trip

Ben:
So you had no one there to support you?

Me:
I had other friends doing solo and ensemble
