Chapter 4:

Hurried steps echoed in the tunnels
and a herd of people invaded the empty spaces.
Led by the distinct sound of the wheels,
I turned my head sideways, forgetting, for a moment,
about the girl.

The air currents grew in strength
and a sweet scent of lilies suddenly filled the air.

Intoxicated by the girl's perfume,
I returned my gaze to her.

Brilliant eyes watched me silently
as her silky lips turned into a smile.

Dazed by her beauty,
I locked my eyes on her,
following her every step.

One—

Two—

Three.

Smiling from the edge,
she stood watching me.

Her dark rich hair flew in the current,
framing her frail body beautifully.

Shadowed by the artificial lights behind her,
she took one final step
into the darkness,
whispering—

"Catch me."

Chapter 5:

I was mortified.
Shock and fear washed over me in waves of dismay.
My heart beat changed and my eyes froze on the spot

she abandoned.

Terrified voices rose all around me,
quickly making haste,
yelling words I could not comprehend.

You could have saved her.

Mumbling whispers drowned my thoughts
and focused all my attention on her
grim request.

"Catch me."

Her beaming smile,

"Catch me."

Her rosy lips,

"Catch me."

Her soothing voice.

It all turned to agony.

Chapter 6:

The horrid sound of the screeching wheels and the piercing static of the horn,
they both beset my mind.

In that moment,
I lived in the past, in a repetition of events I could no longer control.

But I knew,
I knew there was nothing I could've done anyway.

And I wanted to run,
but my legs did not move.

I wanted to shout,
but my voice refused.

I wanted to lie,
but my mind spoke the truth:

There is no escape.

There is no escape
