Chapter 27:
I remained quiet all throughout our journey to the police car,
as muffled sounds still rang loudly in my ears.
"Watch your head."
I wore no cuffs.
There was nothing movie-like.
I entered the car just like any other normal person would—
the only difference, an officer's company.
"Hello." I greeted.
The driver only nodded his head.
"We're ready to go."
"Okay."
And the engine started almost instantly.
Chapter 28:
The car took off in the flashlights of the cameras
and a cacophony of voices.
"Man~ why did this have to happen today? I wanted to take my girlfriend out on a date." The younger officer complained.
"Excuse me..."
I started, after a while.
"Huh?"
"Where are you taking me...?"
My voice came as a whisper.
"Why?"
The man on the passenger side turned in his seat,
fixing his gaze on me."Isn't it obvious?"
I gulped down my nervousness.
Chapter 29:
I did not dare open my mouth again.
All throughout the journey, I remained
S I L E N T a n d R E S T R A I N E D ,captivated by my own memories
which continued to play endlessly.
In a matter of seconds,
I was transported back
to the subway station,
back to square one,
where it all began.
I relieved my experience,
my first and last meeting with her,
our first and last time seeing each other,
and suddenly,
I began to question her appearance.
Did I even see it right?
