Theo was on edge, that much you were sure of, with or without the werewolf super-senses. He was lying on your bed, a textbook propped open in front of him, and though his eyes were staring at the page, he wasn't really reading. There was definitely something on his mind other than studying, and while you knew teenage boys always had a certain something on their minds, you had a sneaking suspicion that whatever he was thinking of was something other than the sex-variety.

Unless, of course, he was thinking about sex, which you wouldn't exactly refuse. C'mon, he was Theo freaking Raeken. He was pretty much gorgeous, and he was your boyfriend.

You poked him lightly with the tip of your pen, leaving a tiny dot of ink on the sleeve of his white shirt. Suddenly snapping out of his trance, he blinked at you, then forced a tiny small on his face. You weren't buying it. "What's wrong?" You asked him, slamming your book shut with a thud and sweeping some of your hair out of your eyes. He opened his mouth to deny your assumption, but you simply raised your eyebrows, and he sighed, defeated.

"It's kind of stupid..." he muttered, shutting his own textbook and resting his head on his arms. You could only see his eyes when he did that, shielding his face from you so that you couldn't read his emotions as easily as you always managed to do.

You shrugged. "Half the things that come out of my mouth are kind of stupid, but you stay with me anyway. I'm sure it's not as stupid as you think," you encouraged, rubbing his arm gently and giving him a reassuring grin.

He readjusted himself so that he was propped up on elbow, in a model-like pose that made you want to laugh a little just because he actually looked like a model. He bit his lip before answering you, his tone betraying his apprehensiveness to the situation. "I didn't like the way that the guys from the lacrosse team were looking at you," he began, scratching the back of his neck. "I've never gotten that jealous before, you know, so it was this surreal experience, and I almost lost control right there in the middle of the school. That's never happened to me, ever."
"It's normal to get jealous Theo -"

He shook his head, stopping you mid-sentence. "But this is different, Y/N. So, I did some research, about why I reacted the way I did. It's...rare, with werewolves, but not unheard of. You're my mate, Y/N. Which is why I got so defensive when the other guys were talking to you, I didn't want them stepping in on my 'territory,'" he finished, biting his bottom lip again. He waits for you reaction, but you seem too lost in thought to answer properly. Theo decided to start talking again, instead, rapidly trying to compensate for the bomb he just dropped on you. That he would never want anyone else, unless it was you.

"I don't think you're my territory, of course, you aren't property. I know that. Of course I know that. I didn't mean it in a possessive sort of way. And I don't want you to feel obligated to do anything because of this, okay?" He slumped down on the bed, rubbing his eyes. Great, now he screwed everything up. He shouldn't have even said anything.

"I know how mates work," you replied at last, slow and somewhat unsure. "And I know that you're supposed to mark me, in a way. Do you want to? Because, I'm okay with being your mate." He sat up suddenly, staring at you with wide and excited green eyes.

"Are you sure you're okay with it? Because, it kind of entails this," he gestured between the both of you, "being forever." You nodded intently, scooting a little closer to him on the bed.

"I'm sure," you insisted, running your hand delicately across his cheek, tracing his jaw, outlining his lips softly with the tip of your finger. That was all it took for Theo to reach out and pull you into his lap, one hand on the back of your neck, the other resting on your waist. His lips were kissing every inch of your skin, pushing against everything but your own mouth, pressing against your neck. He was biting lightly at the exposed skin there, not enough to hurt you, only enough to mark you, to leave tender purple bruises along your body.

Shirts came off, along with every article of clothing after, and Theo had marked you more than enough. You didn't even try to hide the love bites the next day at school, simply because you didn't mind. Theo would have gladly shown his off as well, but he healed way too fast.
